coach kind of pulled a lil (pearl islands) in my opinion last night. dude walks around acting like he's honorable and trustworthy and that his entire game is based around that, yet he made a move to save himself at the expense of the guy he originally joined with in an alliance.

Coach wanted Courtney gone from the second the challenge ended based on her poor performance. He told that to Russell and Rob, and each declined. He may have not been on the same page with Rob, but he didn't vote for Rob either, and coach received zero votes, so I don't know how he saved his tail by voting for Courtney? Bottom line, someone from Rob's alliance was going home, and everyone knew it.

Turning point for the villains pre merge was certainly Russell playing Tyson, which destroyed Rob's alliance. When you have numbers, stick to the course, Tyson didn't, so Rob lost Tyson. Also Jerri's up in the air status went directly to Russell after Tyson left. Advantage Russell. Rob grossly underestimated Russell. When Russell went looking for the idol, Rob just assumed everyone would react as negatively as he did. Russel's entire success on both of his seasons has revolved around the idol, something Rob didn't have and doesn't/didn't see as that big of a deal....and now he's gone.

Immunity idols are the only thing that can save the two girls who were with Rob, and they should be lobbying for coach's vote to have a shot, at least they can get to 3-4, instead of 2-5. Those two villain girls not with Russell need to go idol hunting. Should they reel in Coach and somehow find the idol, they got a chance.

I don't think Coach will go with them, espcially since he sees courtney as being so weak, which she is. i doubt there will be another vote before the merge, but if there is, they need to get rid of courtney to have a better chance of knocking off the rest of the heroes

right. i get that. but the reason why i compared him to Lil is because they are both players who always talked about how they wanted to play with honor and integrity and whatever, but they end up looking like hypocrites because they don't practice what they preach.

coach gave rob his word at first that he would stick with him. he allowed himself to be swayed by russell and jerri and ended up feeling torn because he gave his word to both sides despite the fact that he gave his word to rob first. he voted for courtney so he wouldn't have to say that he voted for rob and betrayed him despite the fact that he had to have known going into that vote that 4 people were voting for rob. his vote could've saved rob and brought it to a tie, which probably would've ended in a fire making challenge or something.

he saved his tail by voting for courtney because that way he thought he'd be in good with russell by not voting for him, and his hands would be clean from betraying rob just for the fact that he didn't vote for him. like i said, i understand why he did what he did, it just pisses me off when people play this game and try to act like they are honorable people when their actions don't support it.

the preview for next week shows the villains turning into a clusterfuck of hate all around, I don't think any alliances are going to hold in any way.

i can't figure out why russell voted for courtney? trying to earn points with coach to get his jury vote at the risk of pissing off parv (unlikely to happen...they seem to be solid) and danielle?

i didn't see how the votes went, but if they merge next week the heroes would've been in much better shape if coach was still in the game along with sandra. those two would flip easily, but i guess the heroes could still end up with a 6-5 majority since sandra hates everyone on her tribe. regardless, someone is gonna do something stupid next week. jt may not give the idol to russell, but something stupid is bound to happen.

I was wondering the same thing. Only thing I can think of is he actually wanted Coach gone so that the heroes would continue to think it was a female alliance - making it easier for him to infiltrate after the merge. But he also wanted Coach to know he didn't vote for him to keep a jury vote - that's why he signed his last name on the vote.

Agree?

^ certainly sounds reasonable, but there's no way he could've known coach would be on the jury unless he did it just in case. still, that's a sketchy thing to do, so if coach isn't an idiot (which he is), that should've been a red flag to him. but like i said, i didn't see the votes, so i don't know really.

^ the way they edited was just weird because they made it seem like russell decided to switch his vote to courtney to appease danielle, but i guess they could've talked it out where danielle would conceded to voting out coach, and russell would sign his name or whatever on his vote to stay on coach's good side. i don't know.

russell did what he said he would, and that's vote courtney

danielle on the other hand, after fighting with russell to change his mind to courtney, voted coach. danielle and pavarti ended up being the swing votes in this one, which shocked me, unless the two of them wanted the female alliance image to continue as well.

if there ends up being no merge at all, then the Villains are fucked. The Heroes did what they had to, and kept the strongest players around. i've been saying for weeks that courtney is about to snap like a twig and it almost happened tonight. as soon as something was wrong with her ankle i thought for sure she'd be gone.

on a side note, i'm thinking there is still a chance that mambagrl's spoiler is a lie, since last season the final vote wasn't revealed until live at the finale/reunion...i would assume the show would continue doing that since it guarantees no one outside the head production team would know the winner.

technically it's el nacho's spoiler. i asked him how people knew the order since no one even knows who finished 2nd, and if it's a vote between the final 3 then there's no way to even know who finished 3rd. he said it was pretty much based on speculation, so it may not be entirely true. but every week it seems to me like it's gonna unfold the way he said. i know you can't expect anything with this show, but i don't have much optimism that it's gonna turn out any differently.

Can we just keep any talk of whatever spoiler or anything related to it out of this thread?

I have not seen what was posted in feedback forum and I pretty much haven't read the last 5 posts in this thread because it gets mentioned. Whether or not anything is revealed I have no idea, but even hinting at it would piss me off if I saw.

^ i don't think he will mainly because all the heroes would need to do if there actually was an all-girl alliance is tell russell to join with them so there would be a 6-5 majority in favor of the heroes + russell. that way they could just pick off the remaining villains 1 by 1. they wouldn't need to offer him the immunity idol. of course, that's assuming someone on that team is smart enough to bring up that point. and the next week's episode never ends up playing out like the CBS production team sets your expectations. so like i said earlier, JT may not give russell the idol, but something stupid is probably going to happen anyway since they showed all those blunders from previous seasons. i just don't see how sandra isn't going to come over to the heroes and blow the whistle on the rest of the villains since she hates all of them

i'm surprised parv didn't tell russell she had the other idol. it seems like the moment russell finds out she has the idol it may cause him to lose trust in her for not telling him before.

next week should be very interesting. it seems like sandra should bounce to the heroes side and make it 6-4. but russell/parv/danielle/jerri have 2 idols between them (and could win individual immunity also) and russell and parv are quite good at this game. who knows how it will go...

i expected sandra would flip since she hates everyone else on her team, but the thing you gotta remember about her is that she won a million dollars by being one of the biggest opportunists in the history of survivor. she also knows that she's gonna be at the bottom of whatever totem pole she chooses to ally herself with, so she may decide it's beneficial to stay with the villains and gang up on the heroes if it looks like it might take her a little farther in the game.

I think JT and Colby will do whatever Russell says.

I also think JT has a crush on Russell.

Other than the idol exchange, this was a pretty boring episode. 2 weeks in a row I have been disappointed with the level of intensity.

Heroes
Rupert Boneham (Pearl Islands/All Stars)
Colby Donaldson (Australian Outback/All Stars)
Amanda Kimmel (China/Micronesia)
James "JT" Thomas Jr (Tocantins)
Candice Woodcock (Cook Islands)

Villains
Sandra Diaz-Twine (Pearl Islands)
Danielle DiLorenzo (Panama)
Russell Hantz (Samoa)
Jerri Manthey (Australian Outback/All Stars)
Parvati Shallow (Cook Islands/Micronesia)

Jury
Benjamin "Coach" Wade (Tocantins)
Courtney Yates (China)

This episode was so boring. It was interesting how they got the idol to him. It couldn't have worked any better. They should have handed the other side a fake idol, now THAT would have been fun.

It was strange to see them all congratulating each other after the challenge was over when JT slipped Russ the idol. I guess they normally edit that out of the challenges to make them look more competitive than they really are.

I remember earlier on a couple occasions when Jeff was commentating on the challenge or explaining the rules, they would show the villains and courtney and parvatti would be chatting with each other or just looking at their fingernails not really paying attention. That could just be courtney's lame personality though.

i think the heroes collectively were trying to create a diversion by saying "good game, nice try" to the villains, so JT getting that close to Russell wouldn't be suspicious.

^^I think it would be easy to talk your way out of that one if you were a smooth talker to the jury. Unfortunately for Russell, that's his one weakness. It cost him the win on season 19. All he needs to say is "Hey, I never told you I was up against an all woman alliance, you came up with that all on your own, and you gave me the idol all on your own. Yes, I lied to you in order to blindside you at tribal, but we were on the opposite team, what was I supposed to do? Just because you chose to create a separate reality in your head, I shouldn't be penalized for it. I just hope you respect the situation that you put me in by giving me the idol and realize that if you were in my position, (with a very strong alliance backing me, and the entire other team taking it upon themselves to gift me with protection) you would have done the same thing." I think JT and probably Colby, Danielle and Amanda and maybe Rupert and Coach and surely Jerri, Parvarti, and Candace would maybe respect his gameplay enough to reward him as long as he wasn't in the final against someone super likeable (Colby or Amanda, maybe Danielle). I think the only people so far that he's truly pissed off beyond redemption is Sandra and Courtney. If you're nice enough and repentant enough, you can explain away a lot of backstabbing as pure gameplay. His problem is that he has an amazing ability to make it far in the game, but has no idea how to turn off the bad guy attitude for the jury.
