I think Lowe making Degand a slasher has made all the difference to this team's offense. Some crazy passes to Smith from both he and Horner tonight.

haha. those aren't crazy passes. those are routine passes when you draw a double team or help. you just arent used to seeing an ncsu player make them

it was a team effort, though. scott wood didn't do shit the first half, but tracy scored a lot because they were afraid to double off of wood. they started sinking down on tracy in the second half and wood scored.

horner stepping up was the unexpected positive that won the game, though. all the other players had been playing or had played well against ACC competition. You usually win a tough game when a player does better than expected in addition to your regulars playing solidly

I think Degand makes routine things look crazy because he plays so herky-jerky. He's fast, but always seems to be on the verge of out-of-control. But this year, somehow he's not.

yeah he's a lot like quentin thomas. really really fast, but always teetering on being out of control. However, I think Degand has improved dramatically from the last couple of years, and is a much better player than Quentin now.

I looked it up. farnolds stats are way better than QT, and by my eyeballs he is better. faster, too


It might be that he just gets into a better motion on a jump shot rather than a set shot. This is actually not uncommon, but a shooting guard has got to fix this problem

I'm slowly coming around in favor in favor of Lowe.

I believe he's been slowly improving our team since he got here and if his recruits hold up, he'll prove to be a great recruiter. Lowe has shown that he knows how to coach a team to victory; and you can't put all of our loses on Lowe.

If you look a the Arizona, Florida, and Clemson loses... if we just had one play go right, a call or two go our way, a basket go in, etc, those games are wins. I know people may say this (we just needed one play to win) a lot, but I believe it's deadly accurate in these three games - just one little thing that happened differently and the outcome is drastically different. Now the NW game was a huge brainfart/NC State shit; The WFU & UVA games were probably games we should have won (IMHO) but aren't "one-play" games but most certainly would have a different outcome if we had a PG with probably just 1/2 season more experience or maybe a player at any position with a little more talent/experience. Lowe has put NCSU in the position to have those small gaps filled.

I've been very very skeptical of Lowe since he started. However, this is the first year he has his guys doing his thing. Although we have a ways to go, our guys are playing with energy and as a team. Actually playing defense and genuinely seem to be improving.

We have sooo many games left it's hard to say anything, but progress appears to be taking place.. But keep up the work Sid.

some of us remember the announcers sucking his nuts during his first year with the infinite number of crazy good plays he would draw up to isolate his players. His offense is brilliant at times. all it takes is decent pg play to make it happen.
