Last time I checked, you have to play man to man defense in the nba. Lowe needs to come up with a better plan vs the zone, but it has nothing to do with coming from the nba.

Besides, perimeter shooting is the best way to break down the zone (assuming you are making your shots from the perimeter) and force a defense out to man to man. passing the ball around up top looking for an opening before attempting to drive in on a five man defense that will collapse on you is a reasonable strategy.

You're just so used to seeing Sendek's team do it against EVERY defense, that you're conditioned to have no patience for it now.

ya but those shots need to come from in and out passes not passing it around the outside of the zone. if u dont get the ball into the teeth of the zone ur screwed. we don't even have our players in position to have an open shot. watch today and you'll see 3 guys at like nba range or deeper, smith inside and somebody in a corner.

You gotta have a taller player with a mid range shot to play in the middle in order to beat the zone. Hodge was excellent in the middle of zones because he could do anything once he caught the ball.

When duke went into the zone, we didnt have good spacing and we didnt have someone willing to go in the middle. Horner should... <oh yeah, horner gets a reprieve for now>

they don't have to shoot it. just having the ball in the middle breaks down the d because nobody knows whose zone it is and they have short passes to anywhere on the court. thats how you beat azone. ball movement in and out.
