comedy lineup just announced headed: Conan O' Brien, Margaret Cho, Aziz Ansari, Doug Benson and a few others. Conan being announced is a pretty nice addition. 3/11/2010 4:38:46 PM |

not bad considering there was already enough comedy associated with this lineup with tenacious D, ween, GWAR and kings of leon headlining.
i feel like the lineup is kind of weak this year, but at the same time i want to go so bad. 3/12/2010 1:50:39 AM |

It's weak this year?
All I've heard about is how this is one of the strongest lineups in years or some shit. There's one guy that won't stop talking about it to the point where I probably won't go just because I might have to see him there. 3/12/2010 3:11:10 PM |

well i'm just not thrilled by DMB and kings of leon as headliners even though dave matthews was one of the headliners in 05. and i cringe every time i see weezer on the lineup. what are the chances jay-z closes out the festival on sunday? in 2008 jack johnson was the third name on the bill, but widespread panic played sunday evening.

the more i see the overall lineup, music and comedy, i just keep seeing more bands on there that i wouldnt mind checking out. i think there will be no way i will see everyone i want to and that is not necessarily a bad thing. the experience plus everything else is worth every penny to me. summer festivals are never a bad thing if done right 3/12/2010 6:39:00 PM |

MMJ is touring the southeast and then playing sasquatch festival in washington at the end of may. then they don't have anything scheduled til august. i don't see why they wouldn't be able to show up on the farm for a night. they should be the god damn saturday headliner after that shit they pulled in 2008. 3/13/2010 12:25:19 AM |

Jay-Z is playing Saturday night.
And I like the lineup. Not the headliners, but I really don't mind that it's not as stacked as last year.
Hopefully there won't be any ridiculous conflicts like last year as a result (ANCO/TVOTR/YYY's vs. St. Vincent/Grizzly Bear/Grace Potter/Santigold)3/13/2010 3:14:31 AM |

well typically the first name on the lineup plays the saturday night headlining spot, so i guess he could be the lead-in to DMB. or i guess late night is an option too.

i downloaded the flaming lips' dark side of the moon cover. it's pretty out there, but i expected as much. "money" is pretty bad though. as much as i can't stand peaches, she actually does a pretty good job as the screaming female singer on "great gig in the sky." i'm not sure how many times i'd listen to this rendition of dark side, but i still think it'll be great to see it done live. 3/15/2010 1:31:42 AM |

i might catch the tail end of that after galactic. i don't really listen to lcd soundsystem, and galactic never disappoints. what would you recommend from lcd's catalog? maybe i'll cut out from galactic early.

All three of his records are fantastic, really, but most agree (including myself) that the best is Sound of Silver. I'm sure Galactic will be awesome, and I'll catch as much as their set as I can, but can't miss LCD...this will be their last tour, supposedly.
Also gonna have a tough time deciding between the Flaming Lips, the Black Keys, and Hercules and Love Affair. If it was a regular Lips show, it'd be a no-brainer, but they're just playing Dark Side of the Moon all the way through, and that record wasn't that good. Ultimately, though, I've seen the Black Keys before and I'll probably be able to see Hercules and Love Affair at another time, I think I'll probably end up seeing the Flaming Lips.

^ i'll check that out. i thought the late night schedule was gonna be a disaster, but i'm not gonna have a hard time picking my spots at all. i've never really been into electronic stuff, but i might check out a little bit of some of them since the electronic sets tend to be some of the wildest ones at bonnaroo every year. 5/27/2010 9:15:51 PM |

^I know...sucks considering there are several two to four hour slots where I have little interest in the shows going on (Sunday comes immediately to mind). Just schedule the Black Keys during the fucking Dave Matthews Band. I know they didn't schedule shows during headliners on purpose, but I feel like there will be a lot of people there that aren't into seeing Dave Matthews at all.
Probably catch one or two of those Aziz Ansari/Human Giant comedy shows on Sunday, though.

The only band/artist I've heard a single song from on saturday before about 5PM is Norah Jones.
^and yeah.
LCD Soundsytem easy.
I'm pretty stoked that they're late-night and not pre-headlining or something.
I've bounced before the sunday headliner all three years I've been. But I might check out DMB. I don't listen to them, but I have a friend who seems to know his shit who loves them as musicians, and vehemently hates the BRO culture that surrounds them.

There are three bands total that I have any interest in seeing on Sunday (aside from Aziz Ansari)...Tinariwen, Japandroids, and Phoenix.

i'm not sure if you're familiar with any of their stuff, but i would highly recommend seeing ween on sunday. and at least you'll get a good spot for phoenix afterwards too since they're both playing on the which stage. i think ween might be the band i'm the most excited about, and i just saw them in april. they're seriously one of the most talented groups on the lineup.
and i kind of want to head out after ween since i don't really care for phoenix or DMB too much, but one of my friends wants to see both. sunday just sucks because you're so drained from the last 3 days and get to a point where you're like "fuck all this. i wanna go home."

i listened to some lcd soundsystem and watched a couple live videos, and while their live stuff sounded really good, that dude has like, negative stage presence from what i saw. probably won't pull me away from much of galactic though. i've been wanting to see them for a while, and i was livid in 08 when i found out they randomly showed up for chali 2na's set because i missed it.
and holy shit i might have to see some of the gossip before dr. dog on friday. look at what their singer wears

my friend saw them in Brooklyn last week and said the light show was pretty crazy also
isn't Galactic like a shitty jam/funk band? seems like an easy choice to me, but to each his own, i guess
