Denver sends TE Tony Scheffler and a 7th to Detroit, who send Ernie Sims to Philly, who send a 5th round pick to Denver.

Philly gets Ernie Sims for a 5th round pick and 2010 continues to be "the year trade value was completely and utterly ignored."

Donovan McNabb wants TO in a Redskins uniform. I knew that they are boys again but does anyone see the Redskins signing TO's old ass?

Day after Skins got McNaab, I told friends and family that he will advocate for T.O. to come to Washington. He may not really like T.O. but McNaab is a baller and winner and knows he needs a quality WR and Skins will be instant Playoff Contenders, if not NFC Favorites (Behind N.O. and Vikings-if Favre returns).

Question is...will Skins pull trigger on the "Cancer". I personally would like to see the league Blackball T.O. and no one get him or pay him close to league min lol. But someone will get him and he will produce. May hurt the team after a year, but will produce.

Who knows, maybe the past year has humbled him...

Skins WR core is atrocious. Neither of their starting WRs are above 6 feet. They need someone bad even if its TO who is an asshole.

I thought I read on here earlier that he was going to sign with the Pats.

Spring Game thread maybe? I can't remember.

^Someone posted that in the Spring Game thread, and there are rumors but I sure have not seen any difinitve evidence of Holt going to my team (Pats).

He is available though, not sure why no one has scooped him yet. Hoping Panthers are trying to land local fav.

This usually occurs when the player wants out badly (or the team doesn't want him there either). They are trying to get rid of the guy as soon as possible and at least get something out of him. They don't want to waste time trying to shop him around and other teams know they can bargain because both parties want out. I always look back at Randy Moss and the Raiders as a perfect example.

I just thought the Raiders were a F^ed up run team...proven year in and year out. But good example.

And I can feel a team on wanting to get rid of a player, but come on...some of these guys are easily more capable of getting a better bargain.

There are just a lot of things that factor in to it.

With Holmes, you are getting a good WR, but he's going to be suspended the first 4 games of the next year and is a risk because of his off-the-field issues.

So not only were the Steelers looking for a team that needed a WR, but also a team that wanted to take a gamble on a player with issues. And Holmes it still somewhat under-sized as a WR. Basically they jumped at the first offer. At the most, they might have been able to get a 3rd rounder for him...but it's a deep draft, and draft picks are at a premium this year. Shit, Donovan McNabb went for a 2nd rounder and he's been one of the top QBs in the league for the past 10 years (that's available at least).

If you aren't a superstar (I would say that Holmes wasn't close...just an above average WR), then you're not going garner a high draft pick in a trade this year. And if you have off the field issues and the team wants you out of their sight...then you're going for a 4th or 5th rounder.

Here's for him having big games and the Pats losing.

Some other news coming from Mike Lombardi:

The Jets have reportedly put LG Alan Faneca, DE Shaun Ellis, and OLB Bryan Thomas on the trade block.

According to Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post, the players may all be released after the draft if no takers are found. Though Faneca was voted to the 2009 Pro Bowl (undeservedly, again), he graded out poorly last season as a pass blocker and wasn't a difference maker in the running game. He's also due a $7.5 million base salary going on age 34. Ellis is aging and injury prone. Thomas is simply an unproductive pass rusher.

Wekk 17 is all division games, in an effort to prevent teams from resting players, hoping playing their rivals will make them more likely to try to win.

The ironic with this is that the team who is responsible for this, the Colts, play in the division that has the lead bad blood out of all of them. No one gets pumped for Colts/Texans, Jaguars/Titans, or any combination of those teams.

^ That and the fact that if teams already have spots locked up they won't really give two shits who they are playing, ala Saints-Panthers at the end of last year

Right, but the thinking was that if its a game like Steelers/Ravens or Dallas/Philly, they'll play to win just because they don't like each other, no matter the stakes

I think it is a good strategy. And maybe in some case it will come up to the last division game to determine final standings. But I do hate seeing resting the starters the last week...

All of these moves are going to change up the draft. Can't wait.

In the last 2 years 3/4 of the AFC and 1/2 of the NFC division races were determined by a game. Better to roll the dice and hope there are some good battles on week 17. The Eagles/Cowboys have been playing each other for something the last two years and the Broncos/Chargers played for the division in '08. Thats better than watching the Ravens play the Raiders or Jets play the Curtis Painter Colts to cakewalk into the playoffs.

Word is Jason Taylor signed with Jets, looking for Link. Figured it was going to come down to Jets or Pats, but thought his "hatred" for Jets would land him with Pats whom have shown interest for couple of years.

Two of the teams in the AFC South are new (Jags and Texans) and one relocated to a new city less than 10 years ago (Titans). Its hard to develop rivalries when 3/4ths of the team's have no history between them.

Go Pats, Go Brady, Go Moss, Go Holt....Just hope Welker makes it back early...sick WR depth when Welker makes it back. (Especially with Eidilman (sp??)

I still think Pats will draft a WR for long run, bc this will most likely be Moss's last year with Pats.

If they are correct this is a monster deal. Big Ben to Oakland for Asomugha and a swap of first rounders. Wow. Never been on nflspinzone.com so take it how you want, but they have it on their front page.

No it's not bullshit, the NFL's policy is based on public opinion only. Ben's actions put the NFL in a bad light and that is what the policy is all about

"Seven players I want to see get their fair shot in 2010, after the jump.

FS DaJuan Morgan. Morgan was one of the few Herm Edwards draft picks that I absolutely love, and it was from the heralded 2008 draft class. Morgan was one of our “Jared Allen picks,” and he exhibited the same characteristics that all North Carolina State draftees exhibit: great measurables, even better speed, raw as all hell and in need of some serious coaching-up. It’s hard to say if he received any of that under the Edwards regime, but he was given very limited action in Haley’s first year. Morgan boasts fantastic speed, and in his limited action against the Jaguars his anticipation and good angles show that he can be a serious combo with Eric Berry this year. If the Chiefs dared."

"Have the Denver Broncos Unearthed a Gem?" (Toney Baker)

http://www.milehighreport.com/2010/5/10/1466167/have-the-denver-broncos-unearthed

Has a video of highlights that are jaw-dropping (especially when you see some the guys playing QB and realize defenses could have just put 8-9 guys in the box).

Hope he can stay healthy.
