He's big enough to play the 3-4, and the Dolphins' current DT (can't remember his name, look at the time) sucks, is old, and has a half-season suspension looming. I briefly re-kindled my love for the Texas linebacker (I have a ton of these... no really) but he's a one-trick pony and we need players that will last. With the 13th pick in the NFL Draft, the San Fransisco 49ers select Joe Haden CB from Florida.

There are plenty of holes on the defensive side of the ball that need help and taking a CB with good strength and awareness will help limit big plays SF gave up last year.

With the 14th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks select CJ Spiller, Running Back from Clemson University. The Seahawks need an explosive playmaker who can provide a spark on special teams and can also be the homerun threat they desperately need on offense. Pete Carroll doesnt have any explosive weapons to play with and Spiller fills this need. Spiller can be the Seahawks version of Reggie Bush when he was with USC and could potentially be a darkhorse for rookie of the year.

With the 15th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the New York Giants select Sean Weatherspoon, Linebacker, Missouri. The Giants released Antonio Pierce, and are in serious need of a MLB with a nose for the football. Even more pressing than that is the need for leadership on the defense. Weatherspoon provides both of these with great measurables. He should be a linchpin in the Giants D for a decade to come. Would take Kindle here, but he's more pass rush oriented, and I think when healthy our pass rush will be nasty. Weatherspoon's attitude (and the Giants need for an ILB) tips the scales in his favor.

Wide Receiver from Georgia Tech. SF is looking for another big receiver so the TE and RB don't have to carry the majority of the yards. With the 19th pick in the 2010 TWW Mock Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select Derrick Morgan Defensive End from Georgia Tech. He's the top defensive end on many boards and the Falcons need some serious help on the defensive line. Morgan has ability to line up on both sides and be effective rushing the passer. With his combination of size and quickness, he could develop into a dominating end for years to come. Also, a nice nostalgia pick with him being a hometown player. They would be thrilled if he dropped to 19.

The Houston Texans select CB Kyle Wilson out of Boise State, getting good value and filling their biggest need by selecting the top corner on their draft board. The Texans feel that Kyle Wilson is the best corner in the draft to immediately fill in for the departure of Dunta Robinson. Wilson impressed the Texans through the year, raising his stock int he bowl game and individual workouts.

Some options:
-Sergio Kindle - LB, Texas - great motor, disrupts the passing game, but some character issues that Cincy wants to avoid
-Jermaine Gresham - TE, OK - would give CP another weapon, particularly in the short to mid range area which they lack but injury concerns
-Demaryius Thomas - WR, GT - might have been the pick, but already taken by SF


but, in a shocker, the Bengals select Safety Taylor Mays of the USC Kiffinisabitchs. Picturing him being a Bob Sanders, Ronnie Lott, John Lynch "face of the defense" type of guy. Not the best coverage DB but can bring the wood and give this improving defense an identity.

With the 22nd pick in the draft the New England Patriots select Sergio Kindle, DE/OLB, Texas. Kindle is higher than 22 on many people's boards and would fit in well with the Patriots system. Belichick likes versatile players and has a need for an OLB on the other side of Adalius Thomas. Kindle's ability to rush the passer as well as stout play against the run makes him the choice here.

I thought about 3 positions with this pick, DE/OLB/WR. Taking into account that the Patriots have 3 second round draft picks there is not another receiver on the board that warrents taking this high. Considered Jermaine Gresham but the Patriots never have a flashy TE. It came down to the best at each position left on the board, Sergio Kindle or Everson Griffen, and honestly I just think Kindle would be a steal at this point.

With the 25th pick of the 2010 TWW Mock Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma Todd Heap has been injury-prone for the last few years. The Ravens is trying to find more weapons for Joe Flacco. Gresham is a big TE who has the speed to stretch the field.

With the 27th pick of the draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho. He may not fill the need for the cowboys at left tackle, but the Cowboys need some young blood for their monster offensive line. Hopefully with the addition of Iupati they can slide someone else out to fill the hole at left tackle.

With LT leaving and Sproles being on tender, RB becomes a priority for the Chargers vaunted offensive attack. Mathews brings a strong running attack and can be a nice change of pace with Sproles.

With the 29th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select Ricky Sapp, LB Clemson. With the Jets in need of an outside pass rusher, another ACC player comes off the board in the first round. Calvin Pace is their best OLB, so taking someone with Sapp's size, athleticism, smarts, and ability to rush the passer makes perfect sense. Sapp has played DE and OLB in the 3-4 and has no problems dropping back into coverage.

The Lions just traded Ernie Sims, who started every game for the last 3 years at LB, so we're going to go ahead and take another to fill his spot, and feel good that he's still available, especially since he's born, raised, and educated in Michigan. With the 34th overall pick the Detroit Lions select Brandon Graham, OLB, U of Michigan. I don't know shit about him, but who cares?

With the 35th overall pick of the 2010 TWW NFL Mock Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Jerry Hughes, DE out of TCU . The Buccaneers has been anemic in the pass-rushing department in recent years. In Hughes, the Bucs staff hope that they have a first decent DE since Simeon Rice.
