This whole Babchuck thing is just weird to me. I'd love to have the guy back no question, but you have to wonder what conversations JR and Babs/Babs' agent have that makes this whole relationship so crazy. One year he comes back, the next year he's running off to Russia.

So if he officially signs back we'll have him, Gleason, Pitkanen and McBain all signed with Carson likely to sign. We'd probably need to pick up one defensive minded d-man in FA or through a trade to bolster that side with Babs/McBain/Pitkanen all of the offensive variety.

i think babchuk experienced some success here and wanted to be rewarded, but ran into JR who decided to handle this one with his stubborn face on.



babchuk then proceeded to be a young idiot caught up with being successful at something other than beet farming or permafrost quarrier or whatever the fuck they do in russia



JR still had stubborn face, said he makes the rules, dammit!





babchuk tries to play chicken and head back to KHL like an idiot and thereby loses his right to arbitration. quickly realizes that russia still blows. he got his ego back down to an acceptable level, and JR with his boner for an offensive defenseman and he comes back to NHL.




shit is awesome. he proceeds to SET UP US THE BOMB. the masses rejoice.




feeling once again like the man, babchuk wants a goddamn raise. he was tied for fifth in the league in goals by a defenseman. JR still has stubborn face.
