They're out there...dated one for a few months when I lived in South Carolina.

Was pretty damn hot...looked like Rashida Jones (Karen Fillapelli), and was fun as hell to be around. Started as one of those "you're just crazy enough to be interesting" things, and eventually became "you're fucking bat shit, go away."

Every time I stayed with her we played Yanqui U.X.O in the background at night. Oh to be young again...

I went to see Godspeed with a girl that has a Godspeed tattoo and requested Russian Circles in the car (claiming "Station" was a better album). Prior to meeting her, I wasn't sure they existed.

Yeah, I've gotten into post-rock in the past couple of years. Lately Don Caballero has been dominating my playlist (are they post-rock or math rock? I don't really care, it's awesome). Damon Che is the man. Despite having no words, their music is incredibly fun to listen to.

Maybe it's just me, but it's often the vocals that I find that ruin certain bands for me. As a matter of fact, I find that I particularly seek and primarily listen to music these days lacking vocals. It's too often that I can't even make out what the people are trying to say, anyway.

Can anyone point me to some of the more melodic post-rock bands, similar to Explosions in the Sky?

^^That gets really good at 1:20. I just imagined a slow 4/4 shuffle beat in the backgrounds and my mind was blown.

I really like that one song with the slow shuffling 4/4 beat and the guys making whale sounds with their guitar pedals. You know the one, right? They start playing really softly, then get really loud with lots of distortion. It's awesome.

Oh, that's a shame. It'd be a pretty good song if they just added some singing, but I don't think they're smart enough to write lyrics.

I love going to shows though. It's neat to see everyone dancing and really getting into the music by slightly nodding their heads.

Yeah, music without vocals is lame, and only exists because the artists are too dumb to write lyrics.

Mono? Bunch of idiots. Godspeed? Morons. Explosions in the Sky? Talentless hacks.
