She is in her 3rd year of residency. So another year and a half before she has to make a decision on whether she will take a job hear or go elsewhere. She briefly dated some other guy for a few months and it killed me. Luckily, he was a douche who worked as a cook at Ruby Tuesdays. He ended up cheating on her with a waitress. We went on a ski trip for a long weekend in Vermont after that happened. No, I am not gonna post any pics after what happened last time I did. We are still very close and hang out a few times a week and text throughout the day.

Speaking from experience here just give it up dude. If you wanna remain friends and talk some thats fine, but give up on the being nice routine or really giving a fuck about her everyday life because its not gonna work.

if she didn't get a little too drunk on a cruise or long weekend at the ski resort after a breakup and want to kiss, you should give it up 5 years ago. she probably thinks you're gay. best way to test if she has any feelings at all for you is to let her see you pursue someone else. if it elicits jealousy, she'll act on it. if not, oh well, you're half-way to forgetting her anyway.

^^ I think it's less about his sexual preference, and more about the attraction she seeks.

Sometimes girls don't show any advancements because they simply are not attracted to you. They always want guy friends though, it's as good a resource to them to have a guy to be there for them to satisfy their needs when no one else will.

It might be that the subject isn't aggressive enough with the chick, but honestly if she doesn't know how you feel by now and it's been years, then you're definitely stranded in the desert with no water or hope. Girls don't just come around and fall for their good guy friends, they always want to seek the next greatest adventure, and the fact that you are being too reliable and comfortable for her means that she will find her thrill somewhere else.

I've had the same situation happen to me several times and i'll even admit i've been just as much of a dickhead to girls as I have gotten burned by some, it's a vicious cycle. But unless you are looking at or pursuing other girls at the same time, she will sense that she is your only goal and continue to use you for emotional support.

Best of luck though, project girls are always fun to have even if it doesn't work out.

whats surprising is the fact that their relationship has lasted this long in the friends only mode, even after the cruise trip. That right there would have atleast caused a breakup pause moment from me.. not talking to her for a few years, or never talking to her ever again. Sure, its nice to have good friends that you can trust, but when one party has their personal feeling set on more than just friends it presents some awkward situations thereafter.

I have no idea how pikey can stay on the side lines for years with this chick. Either move on with you life and find a new girl to have a crush from afar and keep this chick as a "good platonic friend" or go for broke and make your move.

I'm pretty positive she is one of those girls that keeps u around for emotional support while she is responsible during the week and during the weekend she goes out drinking and whores it up with a random one night stand. Then comes back to u for the daily domestic complaining, getting attention, friendship portion of the relationship that she can't get from the douches that she is attracted to at the bar. the way i see it you have two choices. cut her off and start being a total dick to her in which case she may start putting out (but don't count on it ever being a long term healthy relationship) or just cut your losses and quit all together. maybe find a nice attractive girl that's worth your time and will reciprocate your feelings. either way, until she grows up and realizes what she has with you she will continue to keep you in the friend zone to use you why she gets dick from some one else.

Why? I at least got a nice vacation for a week out of it with great company for under $3k. So I wouldn't call it a total waste like spending $60k+ and 3-4 years of my life to NEVER DO ANYTHING with it.

Grad school for those women are at least a great time for a few years. It's like a 3-4 year cruise, they get free room and board and get to go out and slut it up whenever they want.
