Yeah. He is one of the few on ESPN radio that say anything different from the obvious. Mike and Mike are awful. Van pelt isn't bad, but certainly never stirs the pot. Gotlieb tries, but he isn't as smart as Cowherd. I do like Jason Smith though. ok Done rambling about espn

I never get to listen to mike and mike being in AK but I like Cowherd's difference of opinion and overally zestiness. I like van pelt and rusillo together but not nearly as much when they are alone. Gottleib can be good but sometimes he's boring. Kinney/Coleman are alright on their respective shows if you like the topic otherwise meh. Jason Smith is always pretty entertaining. I listen to espn radio like 10-14 hrs a day

so he takes on the opposite side just for arguments sake, and that makes him smart? dude just likes confrontation, and running his own show and cutting off anybody that tries to make the normal, logical side of any argument. he sucks, i don't even know if he comes on in Raleigh but i hope somebody fires him

^agreed 100%, and yes he is on 99.9 the fan everyday from 10-12 I believe. He picks the opposite view from the norm just because he knows it stirs shit up and gets his viewers/listeners riled up. He is probably the least knowledgeable radio personality espn employs. He is wrong about 50% of the time he tries to state facts, but he doesnt care he just continues his act as a cocky, pot-stirrer. fuck him and his show

that link posted towards the end of the previous page sums him and his show up really well

You guys need to simmer down. Why such simmering hatred toward someone you'll never meet and you only have to listen to by choice?

Jesus, you guys are far more annoying than Cowherd

I met Colin during an ESPN media tour earlier this year. Dude is super cool in person. He just gets you riled up on the radio, which pays the bills. He's good at his job.

the scott van pelt show and mike and mike are the only ones worth listening to. Cowherd hits a topic and dwells on it for three hours

so Colin Cowherd is saying that the Twins/Yankees series is over now since the Yankees came back to win the game last night

I think everyone thought the Twins would lose game 1 since CC is on the mound, we'll see how well the Yankees do when their other scrubs pitch. Colin is such a jackass, he's saying it so matter-of-factly, like the Twins dont have a chance in hell and the game completely deflated them. I really really hope the Twins win the series 3-1, although I'm sure Colin will flip-flop his opinion and talk about how much better Minnesota's pitching is and how it was a forgone conclusion that the yankees couldnt win when CC wasnt on the mount

hurry up and put the stormfront on 99.9 so I dont have to listen to this hack anymore

Colin is def. a shock-jock radio show host.

The thing that gets to me is when he does his pompous, better-than-thou laugh. God, I hate that shit.

I think Colin and Doug Gottlieb should fight to the death.

And the winner should be shot.

This jackass said on Tuesday that the Packers had the best receivers in the game, while he was trying to donwplay how good Rodgers is... his examples of course included Jennings and Driver (who I think are good but not great receivers), Finley (which is a stud TE), and then he added Donald Lee (backup TE) and Jordy Nelson(?????). He made no mention of James Jones.

I can think of atleast 3 teams with better receivers:
1.) Patriots (Moss, Welker, Hernandez, Edleman, Tate) *Keep in mind he said this before the trade
2.) Colts (Wayne, Collie, Garcon(when healthy), Dallas Clark)
3.) Cowboys (Austin, Dez, Roy E., Witten) *Go ahead and hate on Roy E.

4.) Saints (Colston, Moore, Meachem, Henderson, Shockey)

he gets an idea in his head, and refuses to accept the fact that he might be wrong. I dont think I've ever heard him admit that he was wrong with something, he always conjures up some bullshit to make it sound like he was right all along

Jets with Edwards, Holmes, Cotchery and Keller have to be there -- especially with LDT coming out of the backfield like he is.

And just because the Cowboys had their bye doesn't mean you can ignore all NFL news for the week. Moss is gone...

[Edited on October 7, 2010 at 1:53 PM. Reason : I'd certainly take the Jets crew > Cowboys]

Cowherd is trollin' its what he does. It apparently works too. It's a change of pace from your typical show on ESPN but I'm not hating. I'll take a Cowherd over a Gottleib any day.

being a radio personality that goes against the normal opinion isnt the reason I hate Cowherd. Its the way he does it that pisses me off. He isnt knowledgeable on the subject that he talks about, he just decides what side of the fence he sits on and goes on and on about why he is right. He doesnt use facts to back up his point, he just uses his cocky attitude and power to hang up on callers before they can develop their counter-argument to get his point across and win arguments.

perfect example is his argument about who should be allowed in the Hall of Fame. He thinks Jose Canseco should be allowed in because he is famous, and since "fame" is one of the words in Hall of Fame, that makes him a candidate. He says numbers and stats are for nerds, so forget about that being a reason someone gets voted in, no, they have to be famous to get in. Jim Rice and Andre Dawson put up good numbers, but werent "famous", therefore they dont deserve to get voted into the Hall. It was the worst argument I've ever heard a sports talk personality come up with, and anytime someone tried to call and disagree with them, he would just hang up on the person mid-call and say "nope, there again, you're being nerdy and talking about the numbers again"

fuck him

Cowherd's start of the show: QBs, RBs, & WRs are the guys who draw crowds, so defensive players shouldn't complain about the new crackdown on big hits. He calls out specific players on Pittsburgh & Baltimore

A sound clip from Colin during a commercial: Pittsburgh, Baltimore, & NYJ are the 3 best teams this season b/c they're the most physical

Face it ladies, he trolls for a living

Today's show was great. Listening to Cowherd say that Super Bowls that have high offenses rate the highest and then be told that the Pitt vs Seattle game was the highest rated til this year was awesome. Whoever was on his show and completely dismantling Cowherd's argument is a saint.

^I listen to him to hear what a poorly constructed argument sounds like.

I don't think his argument was derailed at all. Cowherd's point was that people will tune in more to see a great quarterback. The fact that it TURNED OUT LATER to be a defensive type game is irrelevant. People tuned in initially to see Big Ben do his thing.

That said, I enjoy his show a lot and I frequently agree with his opinion on things.

I end up listening to him because the alternative is Jim Rome and at least Cowherd can get through more than 1 topic an hour. Rome overkills this same point over and over again and has those annoying 4 second pauses between each thought.

So he comes on today and says his 2 sources have told him who is going to be the new head coach at UF... He said the only thing he can say is that the acronym related to the coach and situation is STAB...

I am not a hater of the show, but i can just see that regardless of who the new coach is, he will create the actual meaning of the acronym and say "I told you so"
