do you have the funds to get a massage? if you tell them about your neck issues, it could be from stress that is coming up from the shoulders. the masseuse can focus on any tension areas.6/21/2010 6:05:59 PM |

I need a fucking job, it's been 3 months since I was laid off.
I be like yeah yeah, put it in go yeah. " |
i'm sorry to hear that. getting laid off really sucks, especially now that it's been a few months. have you taken the time to figure out what kind of industry you want to be in? i don't really have much background in what you did prior to being laid off but if you can focus on certain companies within an industry in the area you live, you can go directly to their website and apply for jobs on there. some companies even set up "notifications" for you if a particular job comes available.
Also, have you updated your Linked In profile? Are you on Linked In? Linked In has become a very good resource where recruiters are starting to look for people to hire. I know of some people who have had luck through Linked In. It's free and it doesn't hurt to keep your profile updated. Monster is kind of iffy now a days but I know a lot of recruiters also still search on there for resumes. It might be worth while. USAjobs.com is also a great place to look for governement level jobs if that's your thing. There's TONS of jobs on there all over the country.
It also doesn't hurt to ask friends if they know if they're company is hiring. I always say it's easier to get a job when you have a job - even if it's not something you particularly want to do. The employer sees you as a worker which is important.
Talk to recruiters, sign up at temp and contract companies....you never know. Something contract could turn into something permanent.
Good luck!10/19/2010 8:24:19 AM |
