The official letter from the NCBELS came around a week later. The running joke among many people I know was you found out when the letter in the mail came addresses as "PE" on it. 5/14/2015 3:02:33 PM |

That's pretty funny do they actually address you as such in the notification letter? I guess in NC you get your license number immediately since it's technically inappropriate to label yourself as a PE until you have it.
I took the mechanical HVAC ref. exam in April and while I thought it'd be a comfort I had a few minutes at the end to count up how many problems I felt 100% that I got right and it was about 50-55 (20-25 in the morning, 25-30 in the afternoon), I think there was about 20 that I got down to a 50/50 chance and a handful that I really just tried to make an educated guess on. I think i'll be ok unless I just got all the other ones wrong that I didn't feel solid on. 5/15/2015 9:33:55 AM |

Starting my prep for October's exam. Seems like they've changed it quite a bit over the years. Everything is now on a computer and you aren't allowed to bring in any reference material.
That being said, I'd appreciate any advice/comments if you've taken the 80 question multiple choice exam for HVAC/Refrigeration. Going to focus on the MERM for relevant topics over the next two months, then start working through sample exams.
Additionally, if anyone has a copy of 6-minute solutions for the HVAC/refrigeration exam, I'd be happy to buy it off ya. 6/8/2020 10:17:10 AM |

I got licensed in 2011 and took the HVAC+R path. I'm sure things have changed but I'm also happy to provide some insight as applicable. Although, if no reference materials are allowed, certainly things have changed a lot.
Perhaps that actually helps though since I imagine they have are providing relevant tables and graphs specific to each question as opposed to you having to continuously flip through your external references to find the right tabbed sections?
I'll PM you regarding reference materials I have. 6/8/2020 12:41:40 PM |
