I'm not gonna lie, I haven't bought an NC State shirt since 2003, when we were still Nike for football. I'm still wearing that one and a couple other free ones I got while in school from the alumni association.

personally i don't give a shit who we are with, as long as it's not LA Gear and Russell.

I don't get all the people who hate on adidas. Actually, I think it's just some peoples way of hating on Herb (RIP) even though he is long gone.

I saw a BUNCH of nike shirts at Packbackers about 3 days ago.

Also, isn't UA better for recruiting then Adidas?

^ true dat.

Sportswear manufacturers have a lot higher design standards now, too. It's not like back in the day when you could get away with some nylon Russell Athletic knockoff Nike bullshit.

Shoes actually look great. They put out good Uni's and great gear for fans. I am on board for a campus wide deal. I think in those deals you have to use their gear unless you can prove they have an inferior product. So the baseball team could still use whatever bats they want, golf team, etc. But all uniforms would be made by "click clack" and I am fine with that!

they have much better lines than their earlier prototypes. i'd like them even better if their logo was a little more subtle or maybe just placed on the tongue. sometimes your main logo just doesn't work on the side of a shoe. aside from the aesthetics, i just wonder how they perform. the ankle support looks pretty low on this model, but i feel like underarmour puts performance pretty high on their list in their product development checks.

as long as they don't try too hard to be different design wise, they'll be fine. i think one of the most important things to wolfpack fans is capturing our sense of tradition with classic lines and simplicity in a design. whoever we end up getting our next contract with, they need to make sure they pull this off and design a uniform that fits our style. we're not going to be a guinea pig for brand experimentations.

also, we need to get rid of that wolf statue logo that we have on the football uniforms asap. most of our newer and rebranded logos look like corny ass clipart.

Yep. There's too much detail in the 3-wolf logo to be on a jersey. Really, it just makes our uni's look like cheap K-mart trash

Maybe we are one of the schools wearing these new jerseys?

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2010-09-21-new-uniforms_N.htm

"The more form-fitting uniforms also will be worn in the WNBA and at a dozen NCAA schools outfitted by Adidas, including Louisville, Kansas, Notre Dame, Michigan and UCLA."

i don't understand why everyone hates adidas. our uniforms in football and basketball right now are simple and great looking. the three wolf logo thing is dumb, but i doubt that's adidas' fault.

Remove this, and our football jerseys improve ten-fold IMO. I don't know why it's so hard for the administration (or whoever is slapping the three-wolf on the jerseys) to understand that.

I don't know of anyone who actually likes the logo. They either hate it, think it's dumb, or don't really care. There's no one that says "fuck yes, three-wolf logo rocks!"

^Yeah thats WNBA shit.

Football jerseys would be perfect if they just replaced the three wolves logo with the Block S.

Semi-OT, but we have one good logo, the Block S, and thats it. All of the others are pretty much crap, particularly the "NC State" banner logo. Even the new Tuffy looks neutered. And from what I can tell, I think the University has pretty much let the copyright on the old logos lapse (or either they are insisting they not be used). I saw a tshirt the other day that was supposed to be a "retro-tee", but had the current Tuffy on it...fail.

In regard to the logos, I don't mind the new Tuffy, I just don't get why they changed it. The new one isn't bad, but isn't near as good as the old one. Same goes for the 2 profile views of Tuffy also, the one where he's growling, and the one where his tongue is out the side of his mouth. Those 3 views of the old Tuffy were the best logos (along with the block S - I liked the older block S also as opposed to new shorter, fatter one) that State has ever had. I don't mind the one of the wolves on the mountain (doesn't belong on FB jerseys though), but I just didn't see the need to come up with so many more when we already a few perfectly good ones.

I've never been a fan of the three wolf logo, but I must admit it did look pretty good during the card stunt.

I've always liked this one, it's on my cornhole boards:

I like the red helmets. They're what we wore when we had our best teams in the 70s.

Just go back to the red helmet with the block "S", without the "NC".

And "State" on the basketball uniforms.

Because Adidas cant even get the fucking red right. Not once in their contract span have they ever even come close to getting our red on the uniforms right. Their off the field wear is pretty bad about this, too. It's not hard to use a University supplied color palette, but time and time again Adidas does their own fucking thing and the University lets them get away with it.

been over this about a billion times

until Michigan State relinquishes the rights or someone takes them to court and wins, no one else can have just "State" on the front of their jerseys. It sucks, but that's what it is. MSU were douchenozzles who trademarked something that should have never been able to be trademarked, and the fucking idiotic USPTO let them get away with it.

What? Even if MSU did have such a trademark, you could send some 2nd year law student to argue the case for having it struck down. My understanding for years has been that we are stuck with the NC b/c NC State's marketing people refuse to allow it to be left off.

I don't know how easy it would be to argue the legitimacy of the trademark, but I feel like our athletic department don't give a fuck. Either way, MSU definitely has a trademark on "State"

Quote :
"Common MSU trademarks include the official University logotype, Contemporary Spartan Helmet, Sparty Mascot (full-length), Block S, Spartan Football Helmet, MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY, MICHIGAN STATE, MSU, MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS, SPARTANS, STATE, and GO GREEN/GO WHITE. Michigan State University is also known as Michigan State, MSU and State."
