i just depressed myself and watched the espn highlights from the VT game. im going to throw up about all those missed tackles. my god. even worse in replay. i'm praying our defense learned their lesson and will toughen up and tackle somebody this weekend. if we do,

I would say only for the homers that thought we were going to run the table.

All sensible State fans with a brain realized that what we have done already this year is AMAZING considering we have met, if not exceeded, the win totals that most thought we'd have at the end of the year. Beating VT (a team that was FAVORED) would have just been icing on the cake. FSU will be the exact same unless they go on a 3 game skid beforehand.

I think people need to get over the VT loss. We're still going to have a very very good year and will likely cream UNC at their house.

yes, russell didn't drive for our wins at the end of the game, but don't act like it's his fault. maybe take a look at the offensive line or our kick coverage or shitty tackling on defense?

The offensive line did not play well and it would have been much uglier had we not had a QB like Wilson. However, that first pick he threw was just a terrible, terrible throw. I did not expect to win the VT game but it should be noted: we lost after amassing a 17 point lead, Wilson did not have a good game, and the arm tackling at the end of the game by our defense was not pretty to watch.

Our failure to establish a legit running game to get the defense off the field and the poor pass protection were the main ingredients for the loss.

i agree. this game and how we come out will be huge. i seriously don't think we'll lose, but the first couple of possessions will tell us about how much they've rebounded and they are just "back in the office".

i must say though, not being overly pumped is making this week go by superfast AND i am sooo much more productive.

Squandered last year for one of the best QBs the school has ever had. Why does this sound familiar.

Hope we go better than 4-4 in conference play, but that would be a near miracle season compared to where I think we'll be.

A week ago everyone thought we were just great. Talks of 10-2 or 9-3. Then we play our worst game of the season and just barely lose to one of the best teams in the conference and suddenly the sky is falling. Chill the hell out! We played terrible against VT and still almost won! If we play up to half of our potential last week we win easily. If we play a good game this weekend we will stomp BC. Not even halfway throught the season and some people here are crying like little girls while we sit at 4-1. Just calm down, damn.

No we didn't. Come on now. RW threw for 362 yards against one of the best ACC defenses. The first half was the best half of football we played all year. The better team won in the second no shame in that.

^i disagree. the defense was terrible in the second half. it's like we expected VT to fall down instead of our guys having to make a tackle. I will agree that the offense wasn't too bad, but blocking started to break down some up-front on the line.

We did not play well in the second half.

^5 Hey, in my defense I've never been on the more wins than losses bandwagon for this season. I'm still not quite there, but having the lowest of expectations has made this season really enjoyable so far.

There were/are simply too many unanswered questions on defense. Plus our offense looks really streaky after the GT and VT games.

I wouldn't say they're the better team overall, they were just the better team that half. Because our offense couldn't find any rhytym and sustain drives, our defense blitzed themselves exhausted. You could tell they were severly worn down.

^^ I agree, I think 9-3 is still attainable. Maryland is always a wild card. I think we're better on paper and I think we should win, but you never know with them.

I'm worried more about UNC than clemson. a rivalry game - one in which they will have extra motivation - has much more potential for loss. I think we should be able to score on clemson and their offense doesn't really scare me if we can put even a little pressure on parker
