"yeah Felton was the 2nd best PG in the East last season"

by "last season" you must not be including the playoffs, when Felton got raped 4 games straight by Jameer Nelson

By "last" season I mean the entire body of work of the season not 2 games in the playoffs where Jameer Nelson got hot. Nelson wasn't that good last year, he was recovering from injury.

the purpose of the regular season is to make the playoffs and optimally get homecourt advantage

once you make the playoffs, everybody has a 0-0 record and the postseason begins

i dont care how well you play during the regular season if you're gonna shut the bed come playoff time, when all the other teams step their game up to another level

Sorry I didn't realize we were having this conversation in bizarro world.

Nelson played better than Felton in the playoffs, yes.

It's not like Felton was shit in the playoffs though, he was a little off against one of the best defensive teams in the league. Orlando tends to do that to teams.

Jameer had two huge games, great.

he played great against the Hawks too...he stepped his game up for the playoffs...Felton hasn't shown me he can do that...Rondo has...Nelson has...Felton hasn't yet...forgive me for not crowning him based on regular season performance

if the regular season was 41 games instead of 82 i'd put a lot more stock in regular season stats...besides how many teams last year circled the feared Bobcats on their schedules as a game they'd have to give 110% effort to win

you make it sound like Felton made the all star team

Rose was a better PG than Felton last year anyway

After going to last night's game, I must say we completely gave up in the 4th. Tyrus Thomas did NOTHING (finally had a late bucket in the 4th). PJ couldn't get anything to go from what I saw, and Collins was just shooting JUNK. Henderson was benched most of the 2nd for early foul trouble.....we were doomed after the 3rd (which we started out scoring decent). James Harden and Kevin Durant just killed us, which didn't surprise me AT ALL.

Another BIG thing we couldn't get going in our favor was rebounding...absolutely terrible. We couldn't make a free throw either to save our lives.

Paul Silas is the man, why would anyone oppose him being the new coach?

We were a Ray Allen miracle 3-pointer from making the Eastern Finals when he was the Hornets coach

It would be awesome if he hadn't paid any attention to the league since he got fired in 2005

Next they should hire Dave Cowens.

Then Paul Westphal.

No, actually I've read people who've proposed that Jordan will probably hire Ewing and give guys like Oakley all permanent positions.

And then get his kid as an undrafted free agent.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Ap1ZGFM4idQQcYMLCPDqZaw5nYcB?slug=aw-bobcatsjordan122310

Quote :
"For all of Michael Jordan’s draft failures as an NBA executive, the Charlotte Bobcats owner had the right idea on that June night in 2008. Stanford’s Brook Lopez(notes) had slipped to ninth, and Jordan and his top basketball executives prepared to select him. So sure of the choice, one team official called Lopez’s agents and told them to prepare the 7-footer for the walk to the podium. Michael Jordan had his man.

Only, Larry Brown wouldn’t stop his protesting in the draft room. For some reason – who knows, because Brown didn’t scout these players – the coach wanted to take D.J. Augustin(notes), a small point guard over a skilled 7-footer. He didn’t want Raymond Felton(notes), Brown bellowed. Finally, Jordan relented. The Bobcats notified the league they were taking Augustin and left Lopez stunned when the commissioner didn’t call his name.

Less than three years later, Jordan could’ve had a rising Eastern Conference power with Lopez and Felton. He could’ve had a contender. Now, the Bobcats are back on the brink of irrelevancy, and the owner has no one to blame but himself. He fired his Carolina Tar Heel savior on Wednesday, ultimately tiring of Brown’s belligerence the way everyone else did in his previous several jobs. Brown relentlessly ripped the roster of these 9-19 Bobcats, endlessly debated his desire to stay on the job, and never won a playoff game."

What a bitch...override the owner in personnel decisions, then bitch about it...also...Baron Davis to the Bobcats??

Quote :
"Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski is hearing that Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan is working on a trade that would send DJ Augustin(notes), DeSagana Diop(notes) and Matt Carroll(notes) to the Clips in exchange for two-time All-Star Davis, who is averaging 8.4 points, 6.1 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game."

^^Do we gain any cap space by doing that trade? I know Carroll has a big contract he shouldn't.

Baron is past his prime but is still an obvious upgrade to DJ.

dunno about the cap implications if that deal goes down

Having no draft picks last year =
Augustin over Lopez =
Morrison over Roy =
Felton + May over CP3 =
May over Granger =
Okafor = ; trading for Chandler =
Trading a 1st rounder for Alexi Ajinca =

Trading Branden Wright for Jason Richardson =

Is there anything to the speculation that if the league moves New Orleans that Charlotte could reacquire rights to the Hornets branding and change the team to that?
