Reynolds was designed with the future of basketball in mind. We thought the court was gonna get longer.

The new video boards make it so much nicer in the old barn. Something about reynolds always gives me a headache when i watch games there. Worth it though. Need to rename the red rally Late Night with Jules.

it was nice to see them trying new things with this event to get the fans involved a bit more, but there were a few things tonight that left me feeling like whoever is organizing this still has a lot of work left to do. there was a lot of awkward silence leaving mark and jules out there grasping for anything to say just to keep things moving.

i think next year we'll have a better idea of how to execute the whole thing but one thing's for certain, they got to keep the music going. it sounded like whoever was running the music was doing this for the first time and had no clue what to play. maybe it wouldn't hurt to get someone who actually has experience DJing. the whole thing should feel more like a party atmosphere because this is essentially the coming out party for the basketball team, and music is often times the foundation in setting the tone for a celebration. i'm sure nobody really cares that much about it, but i feel like it can make a huge difference.

They should have planned to have hodge do the game commentary. It is pretty haphazard, otherwise.

The endzones of Reynolds were empty because those who showed up after it was only the endzone seats left, ended up leaving. Not a good enough view to stay. They do need to promote it a lot more though. If I wasn't a student then it wouldve been impossible to know if they had it tonight or not.

I had a good time out there. I was glad to see that CJ Leslie is not a primadonna. I had some doubts about him, but he looked like he was having as good a time as anyone at the dance off and the other corny but fun stuff going on.

People on Pack Pride are already saying "he isn't good enough to be a one and done" and the like based off of last night, but that kid is the most talented player we've had here in a long, long time. Will that talent turn in to great play? Who knows, but he has everything. I was really impressed with his handle.

Ryan Harrow is already one of my favorite State players I can remember. That kid is always smiling and having a good time and you can tell he is a natural leader. He is going to be fun to watch over the next three and four years. Hopefully he never stops having fun out there. He has a similar personality, IMO, to Julius Hodge... always having fun.

'Zo Brown is probably going to have the biggest impact because he is exactly what we've been missing for so long. A long two who can shoot the ball. He isn't going to be a liability on the court and his time playing the one at Hargrave (sp?) will pay dividends when teams pressure us.

Lastly, aside from Tracy and Howell this is a very skinny team. You don't notice it but up and close. We're going to have trouble with the more physical teams in the ACC..

Good assessment, on your last point I will say that Painter is considerably bigger than last year. I was actually shocked how much he changed.

^^that is pretty much exactly how I feel about this team, and our incoming freshmen

I think Harrow and CJL will be the most fun players to watch due to their explosiveness, but I think LoBrown is gonna be the biggest impact player and the "glue" that holds us together. He's mature and can straight ball out there. CJL and Harrow are the type of players who would go for a crazy 360 dunk on a breakaway, while Lorenzo will be the type who goes for a straight dunk, minimizing errors

Whoever taught Horner to be insecure about his game did him a huge disservice. He got into position to make a lot of great plays, but that damn pump fake and lack of confidence got him. Courtney fells syndrome.

I was impressed with what looked like a great increase in everyone's shooting. That could be their home court comfort, since that's where they practice though...

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but was anyone else's favorite part Kelly Harper doing the tootsie roll?

mmmm.... Loved it

Good video from the Red Rally.

Someone really needs to make Sid dancing in to an animated gif.

I'm fine with us doing it, because it's how a lot of teams do it, but does anyone know how/why ringing in the start of fall practice with painfully unfunny skits became such a part of the fabric of college basketball?

"You know, all other schools are doing the same thing we are tonight...but do you know why this one is different? Do ya? It's cause we have the absolute best fans in the country!"

Jesus, he was the absolute worst person to have do that.

^^
I was thinking the same thing.

^those highlights are the burn.

looks like javi has tried to work on his handle, which is great, he looks alot more in control of his dribble, Harrow benefit x2.

I think our key this year will be if we can consistently knock down outside shots, that should open up the floor alot for Leslie and Brown to really create.

for some reason seeing cj leslie all fucking smiles is surprising to me. he could be at kentucky with thousands upon thousands of people, and so much hype surrounding the team the place would explode. he's here though, in reynolds, at nc state's poor basketball kick off, all smiles and glad to be here.

I think that's a good indicator that he likes the team and the coaching staff. You can tell he gets along with Ryan really well and Sid knows how to have a good time.

Is that the same guy from last year? The guy last year was awful. If it is, we need to send some emails to Debbie because that guy sucks.
