After a decade in the wilderness I am finally back. I am putting aside everything tonight and sitting down and watching a Knicks game from start to finish.

I grew up as big a Knicks fan as of any other team in any other sport -- even the Mets. Hard to believe that two men could beat that out of me. But now that Isiah is long gone and Drunk Dolan seems to have gotten the hands-off message I think I'm ready to get fully back invested. I sort of hinted at it early this season in this thread about showing interest but not fully.

And before anyone calls me a front-runner I am a Mets fan from NYC... please.

Still fairweather.

The Bobcats have sucked as bad or worse than the Knicks for the last several years, and we still post about them almost daily.

Say what you want, but ignoring the team when they're awful only jumping back in when Amare and Felton come to town is the very definition of a fair weather fan.

Shame on you.

It's different but I don't expect someone from the great sports city of Charlotte, NC to understand. Once Marv was fired that was the last straw. Dolan, to a lot of Knicks and Rangers fans is the same level (or more) villain as George Shinn is. It takes a lot to let go but once Donnie Walsh came aboard I started feeling a bit better since he, much lime Sandy Alderson is with baseball, is a true basketball guy.

I'm actually from Hoboken myself, but I fully switched allegiances when I moved down here.

I was always more of a Nets guy anyway. Still rock my Petrovic jersey every now and then.

But will you sit down and watch a whole game with them playing like shit and losing?

Dozens of times.

I actually like the Knicks, and I'll root for them over Boston, Miami or Orlando.

But you should both know by now that I'll never miss an opportunity to rain on either of your parades.

^^True.

By the way...I could have cared less about the Hornets when they were here and give two shits about the Bobcats as well. I hope they move them to Seattle.

That's expected. You're a star fucker. You root for San Diego solely for Rivers, you root for NBA teams based on their players, and you listen to Maroon 5 because you have a thing for Adam Levine.

I swear no allegiances to pro teams and do not feel bad about that at all. I respect Adam Levine, but can't say that I'm a Maroon 5 (five?) fan.

And if I was a girl, I'd definitely be a star-fucker/jersey chaser.

Yeah bad call IMO... Not close to set.

Heat - Knicks tonight. It'll never be the rivalry it was for those five seasons but should be another oldschool crowd/environment at the Garden...

Ha...maybe Hedo will finally do something for my fucking Fantasy team. Pretty much my only player that isn't producing. I would have dropped him by now, but my league is fucking huge and there are no good players left and I keep hoping that he will start to put up some numbers.

The Magic are going to look completely different with Arenas, Richardson, and Hedo playing alongside Howard.

Hedo led Orlando to the Finals and shut down contained Lebron a couple years ago

He wanted too much money from Toronto, but he is a MUCH better fit in Orlando's offense than Vince Carter's overrated ass

wow very interesting, I have kind of mixed feelings about the trade but they really did need to make a move, vince was actually having one of the best shooting percentage seasons of his career, his scoring just dipped a little because he wasn't jacking up shots anymore but they absolutely had to get rid of rashard lewis, guy was a joke, they gave the guy a max contract to jack 3s and then fade away in the playoffs?

and I don't know about arenas, but hedo and richarson should be big helps, even more interesting considering hedo was only actually good with the magic to begin with

yeah but then they just got the other one in arenas....

i just wish they could have dumped lewis and still gotten richardson or hedo for a 1st round pick, oh well I don't even really like the magic much anymore anyway

It'll be interesting to see how these trades impact the Magic. The whole Nelson-Arenas playing time, who's running the point will be key. I guess they are hoping Hedo turns back into the guy he was during their finals run. Either way the East is still going to come down to the Celtics and Heat.
