Someone give this man a long-term contract. His redzone philosophy of " call a pass with low protection and trust Wilson to make something magic happen" simply cannot fail!

It's that sort of sheer brilliance that has always been rewarded at NC State.

If TOB doesn't have the balls to get us up for this game, why do you think he has enough to fire a cancer survivor?

I simply can't believe we don't have a 2 minute drill.

Or that we haven't been able to do shit in the red zone all year, and we still haven't done anything about it

we left at least 21 points on the field. can't fault bible for that. we were in the position to make the plays to win the game, we just didn't execute.

It's a mistake to think that because some specific extra bad thugs happened in this fame then it excuses Bible's atrocious redzone playcalling. There's a reason we've stunk near the goalline all season.

Why can't you blame dropped passes on the guy who called the passing play? Maryland showed incredible weakness to 15 yard slants across the middle, so we start calling jump balls down the sideline? you're going to get those dropped when your WR gets jolted by the safety who had enough time to cover the field and make the hit.

We scored 14 points quickly by attacking the middle, and then we abandoned it. Then we made sideline passes even tougher by running rollouts and dragging the QB spy over towards where we're throwing the ball.

^^Here's an idea, try running the fucking ball. And don't give me Moose got hurt because he had 2 damn carries in almost a quarter and a half. When we were LEADING 14-0 and going INTO THE WIND we still pass, pass, pass.

[Edited on November 27, 2010 at 11:15 PM. Reason : but then again the play calls for runs are terrible too]

yea the pass was actually still working up 14-0. we were going to be up 21-0 until we had the smallest guy on our roster run straight up the middle on 3rd and 2 after two completed passes

He is right, they were/are reads. However, the point of a read is that sometimes the QB keeps the ball and runs it himself, which RW never does on a read play so in turn it actually doesnt fool anyone.

I don't think even half of those plays are reads... they are going to the back by design most of the time.

yeah, we aren't talking about the plays where RW handed off the sweep and then rolled out the other way, cause that's just a set up.

[Edited on November 29, 2010 at 1:52 PM. Reason : I don't think they were options, it was more like a dual running play play action set up]

i don't know if you guys remember this but in TOB's second year, he made these comments about how they changed their offensive schemes around to fit the personnel because he has always been known as running an offense with a standard drop-back type pro QB style. i guess the question is, do we see them changing the schemes up for Glennon to go back to a more traditional offense?

we run quite a few zone read plays, RW just never keeps the ball

probably for good reason since he got concussed the one time he did his freshman year

the complete lack of boot plays in the last game baffles me. it is so successful bc we have agile linemen who can block on the move and a quarterback that knows how to use open space. it's gold and bible shits on it.

We know that sometimes Dana's plans work, but our grievances are as follows:

1) a lot of those points we score are based on scrambles by RW and, admittedly, lucky throws into tough coverage.

and

2) when Dana's plans DON'T work, or when they STOP working because defenses adjust, he never seems to shift his game plan. It's always the same set up, and I can sit in my living room and call the plays that are coming next on my tv with a much higher degree of accuracy than random statistics would dictate (I don't know how many plays NCSU has total, so I can't tell you specifically what my success rate is, but it's higher than 50%).

do you even watch the games? We have run the draw out of the shotgun numerous times in every game we played. They were not read options; that would actually require Russell Wilson to make a read before handing the ball off. When the receivers run off their coverage, the line drops into pass blocking, and the runningback takes the handoff 2 seconds later, you've just witnessed a draw play.

We might not have called a sweep play, but sometimes our running backs think they can outrun everyone to the outside instead of cutting up between the tackle and the TE. They may have been able to do that successfully in high school, but it doesn't work against faster defenses. Sometimes our line fails to open up a hole, which forces the backs to hte outside.

Yeah, I watch the games. And to further prove my point, I just spent 30 minutes rewatching the UNC game and charting the running plays. I used the UNC game because it's the only game available on ESPN3 in which we had any success running the ball. The results may surprise you!

Every designed run is listed above, except for three dives by Washington to kill the clock on our final possession. Not a single sweep or draw from the shotgun, nothing even close. I could do this for every game, but it would be a waste of time seeing as I'm 100% correct.

I remember now that you're the guy who doesn't know what the term 'recruiting' means, so I can see how you're easily confused by basic run concepts.

The real point to take away from this is not just how dumb eleueussis is, but how great our running game is when Bible varies the playcalling. I was pretty surprised to see that we didn't have a single run go for a loss.

ITT Ernie makes excel spreadsheets about shit he doesn't understand. You wrote down 4 draws plays and listed them as zone reads. Classic.

Rushing for positive yardage against Carolina's 3rd string defense isn't something I'd brag about, but you go ahead with that.

You watch those plays, find pass blocking and a delayed handoff and I'll carve an excel spreadsheet into my dick. And what four plays are you talking about? You realize on three of those reads, Wilson fucking kept the ball, don't you?

I'm not bragging about rushing for positive yardage. I'm displaying surprise that we did it consistently. And third string or not, they're still in the top half of the conference in rush defense.

^^I find it funny that Dana Bible get's zero love in the Church of Russel O'brien thread. It's a wordplay waiting to happen, and none of these flunkies seem capable of making the connection.

Also:

obviously you're going to be right > 50% of the time if you don't know the difference between the various plays we call. If you seem to think that a sweep and an option read are the same play, then you probably reaffirm your suspicion that your "predicting playcalls" even though you aren't. Odds are, you're only predicting "run play" or "pass play," which any football fan should be able to predict with > 50% success rate.

[Edited on November 30, 2010 at 8:17 PM. Reason : We should just call plays by committee, "ask the audience style" That should work.]
