John Deraney was awesome for us for the 4 years we had him. Steven Hauschka was awesome the one year we had him, but other than that we've been pretty weak.

Have we ever had an elite kicker, like a Sam Swank (sp?), Jad Dean, etc?

We've always hovered around having above average to below average, but I can't remember any time in the past 12 years that our kicking game has really been the difference (for the better) in a game for us.

Kicker and Punter are probably the hardest positions to recruit, since most good high teams rarely kick or punt

Look at the NFL...most of the good kickers and punters are from no name schools

There is a kickoff after every score. We could start by just finding kids that can consistently put it 5 deep in high school. And kids that really want to make it in college will be sending in film to try and get a look. If a punter can put the spiral on it, get good hang time, and have a decent frame, he should get a scholly.
