WTF? Why do people keep saying this? If Wilson comes back, he will be the starter no questions asked. You're being foolish to think otherwise.

"Wow, you're right. It has been 7 years. I think we get over the hump this year. A lot of their assistants got fired, Bowers is gone, and they'll have a new QB. Too bad we don't play them earlier in the season. They'll have 10 games to figure it out before they play us.
"

Despite the attrition on the coaching staff, Clemson still pulled in a great recruiting class which I just cannot fathom. Dabo must be a fucking great closer because he sure as hell ain't a great coach.

As for Clemson at QB, Parker could be back, but should stay with baseball. Boyd will be an improvement over Parker once he gets a few games under his belt. It is unfortunate that we play them at the end of the season as opposed to the beginning.

New RB Coach from the Citadel, Everette Sands..

I don't get this part of the article though

Quote :
"Sands will replace Jason Swepson, a member of O’Brien’s staff at Boston College and NC State since 1999 who was recently named head coach at Elon. After having the same offensive staff in place for the past eight seasons (four at BC and four at NC State), O’Brien has made some adjustments in assignments. Jim Bridge, who has coached tight ends under O’Brien since 2003 will now coach the Wolfpack offensive line while Don Horton, who has coached O’Brien’s offensive line since 2003, will now coach the tight ends.

“With Jason’s departure and Everette’s arrival, we decided it was time to move some folks around and give our offensive staff a different look,” said O’Brien. “After eight years with the same offensive staff, this was a good time to do that. We are looking forward to this new structure and putting together some new concepts and coming up with new ideas.”"

Confused on the rearrangement of Horton and Bridge

BECAUSE TOM O'BRIEN HAS ALREADY SAID GLENNON IS THE STARTER PERIOD.

Quote :
"O’Brien said the door is open for Wilson to return but said with the loss of three top receivers, it was “crucial” to have the quarterback in spring practice. O’Brien said playing quarterback was a “365-day-a-year” job.

“It [would] be a tough situation for him to come back and do it,” O’Brien said. “We would have to see if that ever happens but I don’t foresee that happening down the road. Russell has never failed at anything he has ever attempted. He’s going to try make the Colorado Rockies. That’s where I see him.”"

For the umpteenth time, they are moving forward WITH GLENNON. Russell will have to beat out Glennon if he returns. I don't know how much clearer to fucking make it.

The real nail in the coffin though is that they are changing the offense to fit Glennon's strengths, this will no longer be a spread offense, so RW would have to learn a new offense AND beat glennon out in the fall workouts, and its entirely possible he'd be on a farm team roster by then making the matter even more moot(er).

Our OOC schedule this year is abysmal. Slightly embarrassing honestly. It will be nice to get Glennon plenty of reps before facing a formidable defense.

More than slightly embarrassing. Central Michigan is our second best OOC opponent.

who cares if the OOC schedule is bad? I mean I think we are talented enough to win every game and in the case, OOC schedule may hurt us. But truthfully, we are NC State and we will give a few away. After that all that matters is conference schedule.

I could give a shit about non-conference scheduling. Taking care of business within the league is all that matters. We need easy non-conference games to pad the win column. And, ^, we are absolutely not talented enough to win every game.

Thought that was UNC that they pussied out on. I don't think they'd schedule State and UNC in the same year.

all the top QBs are gone: Yates, Harris, Verica, Taylor, Nesbitt, etc. State should easily be better than everyone but FSU, Clemson, Maryland, VT, UNC, and Miami (if Golden comes out swinging)

espn's acc blog, top 25 players countdown

25. Conner Vernon, WR, Duke

24. George Bryan, TE, NC State

2010 numbers: He was third on the team in receptions with 35 catches for 369 yards and three touchdowns.

Previous ranking: Not ranked.

Making the case for Bryan: He was a complete player, but also a major factor in NC State’s passing game, as he is tied for ninth in school history with 13 career touchdown receptions. He was a first-team all-conference selection for the second straight year, and a semifinalist for the 2010 Mackey Award.

23. Brandon Washington, OG, Miami

I can't believe I didn't see this before.

What else is he going to say? He's giving you "coachspeak" and you're eating it up. Russell has yet to commit so he HAS TO act like he is moving on for the team and fans' psyche. That's how TOB has to deal with the media to avoid a potential controversy. I'm sure he wants Glennon to prepare all offseason as if he would be the starter as well, just in case.

But you're being an idiot to seriously believe that if Wilson shows up for his senior season, that O'Brien would let the best quarterback in the league and a 3 year starter for us ride the pine for an unknown commodity in Glennon.

^^2009 because we were big underdogs with our terrible defense. I also think that game spring boarded our success this year and that's when the momentum started to swing.

^^^thats a tough one...i guess i'll say 2008 because it was such a beating, but i'm a big fan of 2010 also just because of the 3 yard hail mary, sacking yates for the late safety, and basically sending all of their seniors packing with an 0-4 record against us

I think they are all special in their own way.

2007 was great b/c we only allowed them 12 yards rushing, looked like we were going to blow them out, then Daniel Evans gave them 14 points and we still pulled it out. To Evans' credit, outside of the two pick 6's he didn't play that bad of a game. I'm glad we won so that he didn't have to be the sole reason we lost. Jamelle Eugene was a workhorse that day.

I can honestly say that I think the 2008 game was my favorite just b/c there's nothing quite like completely humiliating your rival in their house. I can watch replays from that game every day for the rest of my life and not get tired of it. I've heard some people say "oh well I want both teams to be good to make the rivalry better and nationally relevant." Fuck that. I want to destroy those bastards every god damn time we take the field. I have no sympathy for them and hope the NCAA cripples their program so bad that they become the new Duke of the ACC. The sad thing about that game is that we could have had so many more points. Owen Spencer dropped a sure TD, Jamelle Eugene dropped a TD, and a Russell Wilson scramble for TD was called back for a holding call.

2009 was great b/c as boozie mentioned we were heavy underdogs. It looked like our team was going to fold early, but us forcing that touchdown saving fumble at the 1 yard line in the first half is where I think the game changed for us. From then on out we fought hard and looked completely different on D in the second half. Alan-Michael Cash came through big on the blocked FG and from then on out you knew that there was no way we were losing that game.

2010 was almost as sweet as the 2008 game simply b/c it meant that TJ Yates and the rest of the seniors would never know what it was like to beat NC State. I loved the fact that we had the 3 yard Hail Mary to get us within striking range, scored on special teams with the Graham punt return to take the lead, then sealed the game with the Manning safety. Bitch Davis showed how truly terrible of a gameday coach he was with the kick-offs at the end. The best part of the 3 yard Hail Mary was the fact that when you watch the play you see all the UNC fans immediately begin to jump up and down, then the ref signals TD and all those State fans in the corner go nuts.
