i did invent it. i originally came up with the idea here message_topic.aspx?topic=507531 but lacked the means to make it happen

i later debuted a working version as part of the post as qfred thread message_topic.aspx?topic=514833 and then as its most commonly adapted form in the when's the last time you were mentioned thread message_topic.aspx?topic=525341

i really wanted to make a profile url linkable version before i posted it (because i knew people would copy/paste it and wanted a working version before people started bastardizing it) but i came to the conclusion it wasn't possible without loading external files
