Easy now. Saying 'rope' in ST is like saying 'bomb' on an airplane.

"Authorities said the wife of Brandon Marshall stabbed the Miami Dolphins wide receiver with a kitchen knife, and his agent said Saturday that the player was recovering.

Michi Nogami-Marshall, 26, was arrested Friday evening and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office arrest report, Nogami-Marshall told officers she was defending herself. Marshall had earlier told officers he slipped and fell onto a broken glass vase, but the officers noted that evidence at the couple's home didn't substantiate that claim."

this QB camp stuff Gruden is doing with these guys shows exactly why you shouldn't draft any of them. All of them look uncomfortable as hell and can never answer Grudens question without hesitation. Compare their reactions to what you think a Rivers or Manning or Roethlisberger would have been like coming out of college...

roflsburger has, does, and will sound like an idiot.

rivers is a little off as well.

I guess I agree on manning being smart.

Rivers gives fine interviews, he's just really excited and enthusiastic at all times, plus he's adhd or something and really fidgety when he has to sit still. Always makes me laugh to watch him give interviews.

Roethlisberger is retarded. He sounds like Simple Jack from Tropic Thunder.

Little manning seems smart (he did great on the wonderlic at least, way better than his brother) but he's annoying to watch talk, he always mutters, and he answers every question with 8 cliches in a row.

That's really not funny, I was expecting something where they grade statements Cam Newton makes on some sort of lying scale.

What is funny is how pissed UNC fans are about Newton and Auburn.

denver post ran something this morning on their (well, it was just one guy I guess) top 100 players for the draft. Nate Irving didn't make the list.

I try to avoid NC State homerism, and I haven't been following the draft that closely this year (finishing my Ph.D. is a little more important right now) but is Nate really not a day one pick?

I feel the need to point out that tj yates had clearly better stats than gabbert this yr in prob a less sophisticated offense, so for the love of god just pick dareus or peterson

Yates had a pretty good season, but it also seemed better than it really was because the comparison was the previous 3 years which were terrible

i just have a gut feeling that there's little to no chance the panthers pick gabbert. i also feel like if they don't pick newton, then he'll slide possibly to the teens or twenties. peterson all the way for me

i'd be surprised if we didn't either:

draft Newton or Dareus or Peterson or Green or Fairley or trade down

probably no teams, but i'd love to move down to the 5-15 range, draft a guy like Peterson or Fairley or Green depending on where we trade in the 5-15 range, and also get a 2nd round pick and get somebody like Ponder

A corner having never gone #1 is weakest reason ever to NOT select Peterson first. That's just some bullshit that pundits and writers will throw at you since they think it has become some sort of "rule" of drafting players. If he's the best fit for that team at that moment in time then that is the player you should go with, regardless of what some "football people" will have you believe.

part of the issue was the rookie pay scale

a corner picked #1 would command a shitload of money based on previous #1 picks like QBs, DEs, Ts etc. and no one wants to pay an unproven corner that kind of money

now if the new CBA calls for rookies to be paid much less, like it should, then i think it will change draft strategy to where teams would draft less historically popular positions in the top 5

but who knows when the new CBA will be reached and teams will be able to sign rooks

Revis and Asmoguahgajhahgaha are two of the highest paid non-QBs in the league. Regardless of where they were drafted, that show tell you everything you need to know about the value of top corners in the league. Besides QBs and MAYBE pass rushers, they're the most valuable commodity in the game.

i would like Peterson, Green, or trade for the Panthers

but i have an inkling none of these scenarios will happen

^^^ i'd rather pay an unproven CB that kind of money than any of the QBs in this draft. besides, i think peterson has a combination of measurables and actual game film that leads me to believe he'll be a really good player

agree 100%

the Panthers could use a player like him in the secondary. he's so versatile that he could play safety or corner depending on matchups and situational schemes

Peterson is much better at man coverage than zone (watch LSU's bowl game), I don't think he would be a good fit at safety in most defenses.

Have him cover the other team's best wideout in man coverage every play of every game.

ha

Having seen many of his games, and several games in person, Peterson never impressed me that much. I mean, hes a really really good college CB, but I just dont seem him being more than a solid starter in the NFL

^this.

Not getting all the love for Peterson...especially as a #1 pick...wtf are you guys smoking?? He's a good CB, but there have been better corners come out in recent past that haven't warranted a top pick.
