I got to State in 2000, but I never remember struggling this much with such bad teams -- even when we had Herb before his tournament years, we tended to roll these teams. The one exception that I can remember being UNC-G when Grundy hit the buzzer shot...

Herb's team played much better defense against these types of team.

Lowe's teams suck at defense, especially perimeter defense and rebounding.


^ I doubt it. It's pretty common for other teams to shoot well against us. We put no pressure on catches made by jump shooters. A jump shooter is going to shoot well if he can get the shot off with his usual shooting motion. That's why this shit happens so often.

That's the problem with Lowe. There is no team defense. Just individual defense one on one. Good teams play team defense. The NBA-style defense employed doesn't work in college, hell, it doesn't work in the NBA. Can't watch that shit.

Not to start that argument again, but the defense in the NBA is far superior to anything ever seen on the college level it's not even funny... it's just that the offense is so much better that they NEVER miss open shots and can hit perfectly defended shots.

^^^^^ The part about team defense and Lowe is true, but the part about NBA defense is bullshit.

Offensive execution is much much better than college. Just about every player on the court can hit an open mid range jumper in the NBA. Can't say the same in the college game.
