the NCSU student section is on par with our team. it really seems to have went downhill after i graduated. its pretty terrible. where it was once students non-stop banging on chairs and kicking the barriers, jumping up and down, reading newspapers during introductions, studying opposing players' backgrounds and screaming nonstop during timeouts at the opposing bench, it is now silent, uncreative and sad.

it depresses me about as much as our team does.

but for the love of god please be loud tonight. just once. this game should be one of the highlight experiences of your college career- not just from tipoff to end, but from camping out in freezing weather w/ your buddies to picking up your Daily Tar Hell at 8am gameday, and hopefully culminating in celebration tonight on Hillsborough St. DO IT.

I agree every time I watch a game on TV I wonder what happened to the student section... granted having a team that is terrible for 5 years hasnt helped matters. I realize the old people and alumni are never going to stand for an entire game and be loud. Would be nice to see the student section still pulling that off though rather than looking like they could care less whats going on with the game half the time.

I went on a tirade about how crappy the student section is the day after the duke game and was quickly rebuked. The students just suck soooo bad. It could be a two point game and the entire WPC literally stands there with their hands in their pockets and a frown on their face while the girls are texting and half the guys are wearing their stupid camoflage hats. Damn, I hate that shit. I just hate camo hats in general but on the sidelines at a state game on national tv must be the worst idea ever. Could you try any harder to perpetuate a stereotype?!

I have a tough time defending the student section, because, well...it's been terrible. But if you think that it won't change with a better product on the court, you don't need to look further than last year's Duke game to know that's not true.

The thing that really pisses me off is all of these "well, I have a paper tomorrow", or "I have two classes tomorrow" people who won't even go to the game. Maybe it's just because I transfered in from a school in the Colonial Athletic Association where sports meant nothing...but I take so much more pride in going here than the average student.

You can't have a good crowd without a good team. Only exception being Reynolds during the Les years. But that was different circumstances because that placed was a 115 degree barn that was on campus.

We have to have a good team for students to travel out to the RBC and act rabid.

I knew our student section was bad, but I didn't know how bad it was until I went to a Pitt game at the Pete this season. That was a great atmosphere. If the team starts winning, I'm sure it will get better though.

I wasn't a student at the time, but I went with my uncle (season ticket holder) and that was absolutely insane. After the final buzzer sounded, it was so loud that the band was playing a song (fight song probably) but you could not hear the band at all...only knew they were playing because the instruments were moving back and forth. Awesome atmosphere for that game.

I was at the UNC/NCSU game earlier this year in the Dean Dome and was not impressed at all with the student section or the Smith Center in general. The place is a dump compared to the RBC.

I really hope we come out with a chip on our shoulder after the ass-beating we took in their house. This time we will have Harrow back, Leslie is playing great, Smith is healthier and Lorenzo has to have some confidence after such a good performance in the first meeting.

Vandenberg and Painter will have to play the games of their career for us to have a chance, but hopefully we get a little home cookin from the refs this time and keep it close. I really wish we had Howell though.

How many games have we played with a full, healthy roster this season? 1 game? 2?
