Changing of the guard?

http://mlb.sbnation.com/2011/4/15/2113566/has-troy-tulowitzki-passed-albert-pujols

A bit premature, IMO, but give him 2 years and he could be number 1, especially when you factor in defense.

Pujols is really like 35. I don't know if this is the year he falls off, but when it happens, it's gonna be quick.

I wish all the MLB threads were aggregated in here. I'm tired of reading 35 different threads. That said does anybody like the Angels as much as I do? Angels baseball thread 2011?

I like that their closer got me two saves this week in fantasy, but that's about it for liking the Angels.

^do NOT walk means avoid throwing ball 4 no matter what, "face him" means treat him like a normal batter (he might walk, but you want to make him earn it)

Went to the Angels/Red Sox at Fenway tonight, tough loss for the Angels. Weaver couldn't get them to swing at his slider, and wasn't getting the first pitch strike he usually does. Fucking bullpen gave up 6 in the bottom of 7th so he was doomed for a loss after leaving down 1. Upside is Angels scored in 4 innings and had 13 hits. Here is to hoping we can avoid losing 6 straight and 15 of 16 to Boston when Haren takes the mound tomorrow. I'm going to every game, be nice to see my boys take one. /blog

guess where he's batting tonight? go ahead. guess.

you guessed correctly, alex avila is batting 9th tonight. behind brandon inge.

^ yeah I was going to post something about his line. I guess the KC manager (who the hell is managing that team anyway) was like fuck it after the first 7 or 8 runs and said to himself "this asshole is going to have to throw 150 pitches before I yank him". Probably never thought he'd actually give up 6 or 7 more.

Braves fans still bitter I see.

Braves:

Quote :
"Devine encountered early struggles once being called up to the major leagues, becoming the first pitcher in major league history to allow a grand slam in each of his first two games."

Quote :
"In the 18th inning of Game 4 of the 2005 National League Division Series, Devine gave up a walk-off home run to Houston Astros rookie Chris Burke to end the Braves' season."

A's:

Quote :
"Devine had a breakout season with the Athletics in 2008; in 45 2/3 innings, Devine gave up just 23 hits, walking only 15, striking out 49, and finished with a remarkable 0.59 ERA. His 0.59 ERA was the lowest ever in MLB history among pitchers with a minimum of 45 innings since ERA became an official statistic in 1912"
