It really can't get any worse at this point.

Asdrubal Cabrera injured his ankle today, Carl Crawford is still out, Polanco is out with a back injury, Jon Lester left early and will go to the DL, Mariano Rivera is injured, Jonathan Sanchez is on the DL, JJ Putz is on the DL, Josh Johnson may not be back as early as hoped, and Oswalt may not be back until August.

Current injured players: 9
Current players on DL: 5

dunno but Capps needs a break...Perkins has looked better than Nathan this season, but obviously Nathan has been an elite fantasy closer in years past

Thanks, trying to improve my closers since, outside of Kimbrel, they all play for terrible teams (Not that Minn has been very good this year either).

Gregg (Bal), Francisco (Tor), Salas (Stl), Melancon (Hou).

May take a chance on Perkins or Nathan...

I've been streaming 2B in and out all year. Technically I have Michael Young, but I've got him playing 3B for me as my draft was shitty. I had Brian Roberts before he got hurt, then went to Beckham, then Casilla for a while, and now I am playing Ty freaking Wigginton there. Crazy.

There is just so few good offensive options this year that are not marquee stars, it is hard to find sleepers in the FA pool. Thank God I have Asdrubal as my SS.

Good idea to drop Melancon off for David Hernandez (Arizona)... I realize Putz is the regular closer, but he is on the DL and Hernandez has been 5/5 in saves since.

My lineup went 2 for 31 yesterday. Also, my team ERA for the week (which includes all games played since the allstar break) is around 7. Prior to that I had the best pitching in the league by far.

Terrible week so far for team "Doug Doesn't Fist and Tell"

Depends on what you need. If you need HRs and a shitty BA, Pena and Reynolds are champs. Hafner is up and down. Ride him when he is hot. Crawford is the no brainer pick of this group once he gets back in the groove. I'd try to trade one or two out of Hafner/Reynolds/Pena because they all offer basically the same thing and play positions where you can find better options.

Is it safe to drop Josh Johnson? With McCann about to come off the DL, I'm not in a big bind but if McCann happens to stay on DL longer then I need to get rid of either Jurrjens/Johnson who are both DL right now.

Freese, although its kind of a shit vs. shit dilemma

i pray you're either in a 14+ team league and/or this is for an off-day utility backup player spot

This was the 1st time in my 12 years or so of playing fantasy baseball that my team did not make the final four. I finished 6th, lost by one category in the 1st round. I did not spend enough time on my team and kept waiting for certain players to come around like Jason heyward. What a mistake.

I missed the draft and ended up with no pitching outside Shields. I had Hamilton, Votto, Heyward, Choo, Yovani, and a few others that did not perform to expectations and that doomed my team. I was lucky and had Kimbrel who killed it for me except down the stretch.

Oh well maybe next year.

Fantasy baseball is too much of a drain on work and social life to be viable anymore. After this season, I'm officially retiring.

^ i've considered this as well. This season I barely checked my teams more than 2X per month. I just put my best starting pitchers as active and hoped for the best. Guess that's why my team sucked.
