So I saw some review give this a 1 out of 5 this morning, but it was the same guy who apparently gave a 1 out of 5 to Deus Ex (the original) so I count it as a good review.

IGN gave it a 9.8, not sure that means much, but most reviews I read were quite strong.

I think non-Halo players are going to enjoy it. I think they've supposedly revamped the multiplayer to be more in line with CoD.

I wouldn't be surprised if Halo 4 had stronger online numbers than Black Ops 2.

I don't play Halo but this game looks great. Tom Chick wrote the only decent review for Uncharted 3 so I trust his opinion. It seems like he is just hating on the lack or originality in the gameplay. It sounds like the production values for Halo 4 are unprecedented and that is a redeeming factor.

haven't played yet but things that irk me already:

- unlocking mods through progression/play time. I don't like when people are rewarded for playing more. i like even skill sets that anyone can use and you dont have to put in 96 hours of gameplay to unlock. the halo reach xp system was fine for me. yeah you can buy random cosmetic upgrades but it didnt affect your ability in the game. there are gonna be those losers that have every single mod unlocked in the first week and then it's an uphill battle before you even start

- being able to join games that are already started. one of my favorite things in halo is when someone on your team drops out. that 3v4 or 2v4 is so fun to play outnumbered, if you can handle it. yeah it sucks playing lower numbers or against really good guys when you're less men. like someone said, i can see this being a pain in the ass joining a game thats at 46-49 and wasting time.

Enjoying it very much so far.

343 definitely upped the pace of multiplayer, and it feels a lot more like cod now than Halo (especially after Reach). It's not a bad thing, but it takes some adjusting to. Having sprint as a default and not an armor ability plays a huge part into that.

I don't mind ranking up to buy yourself weapons and armor mods. There are A LOT of choices though, so sitting and strategizing what sort of perks you want to invest in for a certain class build is something new for the series.

Armor skin customization is pretty cool too. Especially since you need to focus on certain commendations if you want to unlock that sweet looking helmet.

Ordanance drops are another change, and a welcome one at that. It seems to be base more on points than on straight up kills, which is nice, and you get an on-the-fly choice between perks and/or heavy weapons.

Graphically, the game is awesome. For those of you looking for another Halo clone you're going to be a little shocked the first time you log into multiplayer (I was). The art direction has taken a turn, which 343 needed to do to put their own spin on the series. I dig it, but it's another bit that will take adjusting to.

All and all...if you're on the fence I suggest picking it up. Especially with CoD venturing into a type of future terriroty as well...you might as well pick the game where you can pilot a huge walking Mech and wreak havoc.

this wasnt even on my radar, but after reading the changes to MP, I'm pretty interested. I played a lot of 1 and 3 back in the day and I really enjoyed COD4, so perhaps ill take a step back into the arena.

too bad I'm not that good (oddly i was at COD4, but every game since I've sucked at). that's probably why i prefer objective maps like CTF.

i played some mp last night and i swear if someone dropped out, they were NOT filled. in the scorecard or whatever you call it, there would be someones name with an X beside it.

mp is really fun, i never really got into mp on reach or 3, but this is really fun. it is kinda like a blend of halo and cod.

Had the pleasure of being in Zahner's first two games last night.

I didn't play well at all last night, but I REALLY enjoyed the game. I got so burned out on COD that I haven't picked up a controller other than to use Netflix/HBO GO in months. Now I can't wait to get done with the workday and play again. It's a nice change and I think Sik's description of a Halo3/COD love child was quite accurate. Great blend and pace.

^^^ OMG. That is the funniest thing I've ever seen in a Halo game, largely because it could almost be a legitimate strategy. It'd be awesome to see how many people in a round you could get to fall for it.

Has anyone unlocked or even seen the auto sentry yet? Any time I hear about a game which has deployable defense assets, those are usually the items I want most in my inventory. I just hope that this one doesn't suck...
