what i dont understand is how the aliens are allowing the 2nd Mass settlement to exist. i mean, it cant be that hard for them to find them. they could just do a flyover during the day and see all the activity going on. and with all the skitter murders going on (the skitter prisoner, Pope blowing up the 6 that were sleeping, and now Hal butchering the skitter and stealing all the harness kids), it'd be totally retarded if the aliens did NOT retaliate. but then again, i dont really know what i should expect from this show.

The second this "sole survivor for the Mass 3rd" showed up, I immediately said "this guy is a traitor or a double-agent", and the second he said they had orders to take the under-20s ahead, I was looking at my girlfriend like, "THIS GUY IS EITHER GIVING THEM TO THE ALIENS OR USING THEM AS BARTERING CHIPS".

I've only see the past 3 episodes but I'd think it depends on their overall plan. They might want some straggling humans for breeding or slaves or something.

I am. It's still kind of just plodding along, but I think the trailer at the end mentioned that there was only 2 or 3 episodes left to the season so maybe it'll pick up before the end.

The aliens are capable of interstellar travel but are unable to locate the human resistance fighters. It really can't be that difficult.

The thing is that if you make the aliens as powerful as they should be there's no dramatic tension because they would have already completely destroyed the resistance and then you have no show.

You're assuming their goal is to wipe out human life. That doesn't appear to be the case.

For example, our military VASTLY over powers the Afghani insurgents, but we can't wipe them out, because our goal isn't to wipe them out.

last night's episode was good.

*spoilers*





Saw the blonde again. She hooked up and being controlled by these new aliens. Will be interesting to see how these guys play out.

The current aliens seem to have harnesses built into them... sort of like they use to be something else.

they are melting down the steel from the mechs and making GOOD bullets.

Will be a good finale. This show is getting better.

Armor totally called the harness transforming the kids.

Still interested to find out why if Ben and Nick were harnessed for about the same period of time that Ben seems pretty much all human and Nick considers himself a skitter/alien.

It would be a cool twist if the biped aliens are the "real" invaders and the ones with like six legs are just a different alien race that they conquered and put harnesses on. They use them as the main attack force so that the defending armies learn their weaknesses and stuff then boom the biped guys come out and start wreaking havoc.

^^ I think its pretty obvious its the harness that transforms them into critters. The harness cured that one kid and made the other kid into a super human. And the harness that was found in the critter was deep inside him, suggesting that it's body was smaller than before. I'm leaning towards that these guys have been abducting people for quite some time and building their army of critters.

so i pulled a 5 hour falling skies marathon last night. 3 back episodes and the 2 hour finale. Overall I enjoyed it, though my girlfriend got mad because I was calling every plot twist before it happened. Aside from that though I thought it was fairly well done. Except for one thing, the RGP shot was probably the worst 30 seconds of all time.

I like how they clipped the positive and negative terminal to the same flagpole... i don't think they get how an antenna works.

The RPG shot scene was horrible too, RPGs don't track and there's NO WAY he could make that shot just standing up and free aiming it.

This show is Sci-Fi channel quality

Did they forget to hire someone to make sure the gun usage was at least somewhat accurate? Don't they send actors to a mini-bootcamp in these scenarios? Watching these people fire their guns tucked up under their armpit, flinching at every single shot, is distracting.

Also as stated earlier, the RPG shot? These things have been killing Americans in the middle east for a dozen years, but they insult the average American's intelligence by thinking RPGs somehow track onto moving objects? Really? I'm confident my mom would know exactly what behavior an RPG would have when fired.

What was with the baby shower nonsense? I'm confused how this stuff is important. It is people fighting for survival, and they devote 20 minutes to some lady we don't even know or care about having a baby? These women need to be making bombs, not knit hats for the baby. Everyone they have ever known is dead, try to act like it.

Falling Skies needs a bit of The Road mixed with some Tears of the Sun to keep my attention any further

It's very cheesy and the believability is kinda bad but I enjoy it.

I guess the whole baby shower thing was to show that they still had humanity and that the civilians were still civilians or whatever, but you're right, they should be making bombs and supplies. Even in WWII when we weren't under constant threat civilians were all making parachutes, aircraft parts, etc.
