They had a sand ceremony." |

my sister's marrying a hindu dude.
this means a really really long hindu ceremony.
I will die. I, unlike the other 1 billion of my brown brethren, have little patience for ritual and ceremony. 6/20/2011 2:05:16 PM |

^^ hahaha yeah same.
But seriously the sand ceremony is lame, as are most tactile visualizations of how you're joining your lives together, especially when you're doing multiple ones in the same ceremony. You get a pass if it's something inherently done in your culture's wedding ceremonies. 6/20/2011 2:36:29 PM |

My cousin got married on a golf course outside in late November in Pennsylvania. It was cold and windy as hell.
Their candles blew out several times until they just gave up trying to light the damn unity candle.
The marriage didn't last long. 6/20/2011 2:39:36 PM |

Lol I also went to an outdoor wedding where it was too windy to light the unity candle. Don't think most people think that one through 6/20/2011 2:42:13 PM |

Yeah I don't dig sand ceremonies
Just give me another ring for my right hand or something to symbolize our union. 6/20/2011 2:51:58 PM |

I don't need a SandArt kit to show the joining of our lives.
The last wedding I went to had "Butterfly Kisses" playing during the ceremony.. like, everyone had to stop and listen to it. The whole thing. Everyone was staring at each other. It was awkward. 6/20/2011 3:14:48 PM |

I went to a funeral once that played Mariah Carey's "Butterfly" during the service. My friend and I were to that. 6/20/2011 3:45:18 PM |

The garden wedding I went to in the mountains was quite nice except for the bugs.

That all depends on what is happening in the world. My cousin got married on June 17, 2006. The wedding ended right before the kickoff of USA vs Italy in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The reception started about 3 hours after the wedding ended. It worked perfect!

Plus they have like a 4 hour gap between the ceremony and the reception (which is when the game starts). We're thinking about trying to do both. Everyone has season tickets together too
ALSO....yea my frans got married on the beach last October and it was hot and humid as fuck...this was also late in the evening too! Good luck with that" |
If it is open bar then going to a wedding on your birthday is a good deal. My sister was born on June 17th, so she was very happy when our cousin had an open bar at his wedding on her birthday.
