I had to listen to the spanish broadcast. not nearly as exciting. i'm surprised the ref didn't just blow the whistle right away. send off one or two guys then quickly put the ball in play and end the game, in my opinion

Yeah I had to look up where Anzhi was and it's way south, near Georgia and all the other former Soviet Republics. Funny that none of the team lives there. I assume the billionaire owner has several jets that he ushers the team back and forth with.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal misses out on the rest of the Champions League this year. Part of me thinks that's why Wenger hasn't spent much money yet. Maybe the board is tell him to hold up until later in the week to see if they make the group stages. If not they lose out on a minimum €4 million plus around €500k / game won after that, plus €3 million for making the round of 16. Knowing there is no chance of that money is available could change the transfer spending budget.
