I'm 26 and I've been lucky enough to have 2 hole in ones - both times I didn't get to see the ball actually go in the hole though.

Rule 14-3

Wearing Headphones or Earplugs During Stipulated Round

A. The Rules of Golf do not prohibit a player from using headphones, provided they do not communicate information on the conditions (such as weather) which are relevant to his play or otherwise assist the player in his play. Please refer to Rule 14-3, Decision 14-3/16 and the penalty statement under Rule 14-3. Additionally, the Rules of Golf do not prohibit a player from using earplugs, provided it does not assist the player in his play - (Rule 14-3). Finally, a prudent player would avoid the appearance of any possible breach of the Rules. The decision on whether a breach has occurred needs to be made by a rules official or other member of a Committee on a case by case basis, taking all of the circumstances into consideration.

^^^I got fitted for them, and also tested the ping g15, Burner2, titleist ap1, and mizuno jpx. It was down to the Callaways and the Burners and it came down to the forgiveness of the razrs and the fact that I think the Burners are goofy looking.

Shot an 83 on a course that I usually play in the 96-106 range. Loosened my putting grip to about how I hold it for my irons and bam long putt success! Guess 8 rounds in the past 3 weeks has started to pay off

^good call...your putting grip should definitely be as loose as you can get while being comfortable.

Just picked up some new Burner 09's, a Burner Superfast 2.0 TP driver and a Burner superfast 2.0 3 wood. The shafts on the irons are regular flex carbon fiber, not sure if that will be too much flex after playing with steel's for so long. I like the lighter weight though. I'll have to hit them a bunch more before I can make a verdict. The only chance I've had to hit them so far was at some driving range with mats. Fucking hate those things.

Had my last set of clubs wrapped in some winnlite soft's. Nice soft grip but not bulky at all.

I didnt like it. His interviews have zero substance and, with Barkley for instance, he kept asking about other interviews with Barkley. Just odd.

He also seems to struggle to go from question to question. There's zero transition.

"Charles, tell me about your golf swing?"

Charles answers

Immediate Next Question "what was it like playing against michael jordan?"

Charles answers

Immediate Next Question "Were you serious about running for governor?"

getting some new sticks

should I go with Burner 2.0 or Diablo Edge?

obviously, I'm looking for an answer from people who have never seen me play and have no idea how I swing, but.....

I would definitely recommend the Burner 2.0's. I gained a club instantly and they feel great. They look really good from the top too.

I just got a set of burner 1.0's and love them save for the shafts (regular flex graphite). When I do hit them well the ball flight is much higher and they land softer than my previous clubs without any loss in distance.

I'm debating selling them and trying to find stiffer shafts or just go back to steels. I do like the lighter weight so I may stick to graphite.

assuming you're not paired up with someone, its sometimes nice to play alone. It really helps you get into a tempo and concentrate on your game, so the round ends up being great practice without the distractions of other players.

nacstate: Unless you are a really high handicapper shooting around 100 or are over 50+ years old, you should be playing steel shaft irons. Graphite are for extreme beginners and older people or women who don't swing hard.

ha...PGA just started at the Atlanta Athletic Club

groundskeeper was maintaining the greens last night and the mower got stuck and dug up a patch of the green..
a different groundskeeper was using a different mower on a different green and the same thing happened...
they are blaming it on rising dew points

they had to lay sod on the damaged greens and "patch it up".. if your ball lands in the patch, you get to move it
but if the patch is in your line while you are trying to putt, you have to putt over it

i bet those groundskeepers feel pretty

^^^^^ unfortunately it was the only set I could find with a 3 iron. Otherwise it's a 4-AW or a higher priced model. I'ce been working on my swing anyway and I think these shafts just show my weaknesses more. I need more time on the range with them.

Lonnie Poole yesterday, RGA today, Eagle Ridge tomorrow...not a bad week of golf lol.

I need to figure out how to keep my balance on my drives. I've shot my best rounds using flat tennis (actual game of tennis) shoes. Now that I'm using my golf shoes I keep losing my balance on the tee

^hit some balls w/out shoes on focusing on swinging as hard as you can w/out losing balance...you'll have to swing about 80% to keep your balance more than likely...take that exactly tempo to your real shot...promise you this works.

you'll hit it longer catching it more pure anyways...plus scoring comes from fairways not woods.

^I was able to adjust it and increase my swing speed I need to get a stiffer shaft (that's what she said) driver. If I sorta let it whip at the top of my swing it keeps it from whipping the ball into a slice at impact. Drove the green a few times at RGA (not much to brag about but hey it still improves the score). I improved my score by 3 strokes from Lonnie Poole to RGA. Should have been a much bigger improvement considering the difference in difficulty but my putting was terribad yesterday

Hopefully this rain holds off so we can checkout Eagle Ridge for the first time. Anyone have a layout of Eagle Ridge? I'm not sure if they have one on their scorecards or before you tee off, but I'd like to know of any blind fairways/hazards.
