it must be that. She was last seen and heard from on the 13th. That gave him around 48 hours to make it down to Houston and back to Raleigh in time to "wait" at their meeting place to drop off the kids. It's a short timeline but plausible none the less.

How the hell did they find the body so quick then? They must of had some pretty baller leads. They found the body and the house where it was cut up (whose house is it???), and have all kinds of evidence. I'd be surprised if it wasn't him considering how fast everything has moved.

Seriously, if you're going to drive all the way to Houston to dump body parts, why not scatter them along the way and toss the machete somewhere equally as random so it couldn't be found in a reasonable amount of time? Also, why would leave the remains on your relative's property? Not that I think it's a setup, but it does seem incredibly stupid to link yourself that directly to the body.
