Yeah, this will fail. America is sick of bailouts, even if this one is actually targeted at blue collar workers.
Not that the federal government isn't capable of producing jobs. Hell, they employ hundreds of thousands, ENTIRE CITIES of people in the military intelligence and counter terrorism industry. But these are "broken window" jobs; they are just a drain and have no long-term benefit to the nation.

Quote : | "Obama Campaign Says GOP Blocking Jobs Bill--After Reid Blocks Jobs Bill
The Obama campaign sent out an email today asking supporters to urge Congress to at least vote on the president’s jobs almost immediately after Democratic majority leader Harry Reid blocked a vote on the bill in the Senate.
On the Senate floor today, Republican leader Mitch McConnell asked for unanimous consent to proceed on voting on the bill. Reid, who has struggled to find enough votes for the bill in the Democratic caucus, objected to the motion and killed the opportunity for a vote.
About ten minutes later, Jim Messina, Obama’s 2012 campaign manager, emailed this message to supporters:
===
President Obama is in Dallas today urging Americans who support the American Jobs Act to demand that Congress pass it already.
Though it's been nearly a month since he laid out this plan, House Republicans haven't acted to pass it. And House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is out there actually bragging that they won't even put the jobs package up for a vote -- ever.
It's not clear which part of the bill they now object to: building roads, hiring teachers, getting veterans back to work. They're willing to block the American Jobs Act -- and they think you won't do anything about it.
But here's something you can do: Find Republican members of Congress on Twitter, call them out, and demand they pass this bill.
===
So will the Obama campaign be asking its supporters to "call out" Harry Reid and "demand" he and Senate Democrats pass the bill?" |

Of course they would block the bill. If it passed, and actually created jobs, then it would make Obama look like a hero. That would screw up any of their hidden agendas for the 2012 elections. 10/4/2011 5:04:11 PM |

So then why are the republicans trying to get it voted on (attempt to pass) and the democrats are killing the vote attempts? 10/4/2011 8:59:07 PM |

Cantor blocked the bill, Reid's trying to keep his seat. 10/4/2011 10:26:20 PM |

really? Does Harry Reid look like Eric Cantor and have the same spelling of his name, despite a wildly different pronunciation? Because, last time I checked, some mother fucker named "Harry Reid -D Nevada" was standing on the Senate floor saying they couldn't vote on the bill yet. Or are you just ignoring facts, now? 10/5/2011 5:41:05 PM |

why the fuck are the democrats now playing the partisan games? I thought this shit needed to be passed right now? If that's what you wanted, why the fuck are you going to introduce a tax increase in a bill that is completely irrelevant to the purpose of the bill? it's like the stupid democrats are TRYING to sabotage this bill 10/7/2011 8:11:45 PM |
