Yeah, the bear was great. Marshall's Edgar Allan Poe monologue was great. But Barney's chase scene in the beginning was downright gold. 11/8/2011 11:47:11 AM |

Some progression again is nice. I still love the show, but they need to rev-up the engine a little bit on the overarching story. 11/15/2011 12:38:42 AM |

The worst part is Barney spent so long trying to convince Nora he was worth it. Robin just met Kumar recently, yet she was the one who wouldn't do the right thing? 11/18/2011 1:57:11 PM |

it really makes you question who it is that he's getting married to for the season finale.
and i agree on them needing to rev things up. its great that they want to show more of the barney situation, but since the show is meant to focus around ted it might be about time to make him dating again

Ugh why does evey sitcom I watch jump the shark with an unwed pregnancy???
30 rock...Scrubs...now this...
At least Elizabeth Banks isn't the one getting knocked up anymore.
Also happened in the Office but at least they were engaged already and it didn't dramatically effect a season arc.
EDIT: Not that I have anything against unwed pregnancies, I'm just sick of seeing it over and over on tv shows

The Robin pregnancy fakeout was such a blatant and poorly executed bit of emotional manipulation that it was infuriating. They are treating Robin and Lilly like some mush-brained, baby crazy stereotype from the 50s. I don't find that amusing and it's fairly insulting to women. 12/6/2011 12:06:15 AM |
aimorris All American 15213 Posts user info edit post |
I didn't think the episode was that bad and there were definitely a few laughs here and there. The Robin thing didn't make me mad, I just didn't get the point.
I would probably not still be watching if my wife didn't love the show though.

My theory is they made 2 episodes...one where she really was and one where she wasn't, and then waited to see how audiences reacted to the cliffhanger to decide if they wanted to go through with it or not. 12/8/2011 2:39:34 AM |

Monday's episode was extremely weak. The only part that got an actual laugh out of me was the very end when Barney chose the bees over the crazy woman. They are going to lose viewers if they continue the trend of mediocre episode > 2-3 weeks of reruns > mediocre episode 2/8/2012 3:29:37 PM |
