Just got to play a couple rounds. As everyone has said, it looks incredible, and I'm playing on low settings at 1680x1050. Getting surprisingly good framerates with the 5770, highest I saw was ~70 in the tunnel area.

btw, you still can order the gtx 570 without the Batman coupon; something is up with their system. You can call or email their customer service to see if they can just send you the coupon since its an nvidia promo and it shows it in stock. Just odd to have it as a separate line item. Its a new site so I guess they are having some issues with it.

playing at 1920x1200 and it's pretty solid until stuff starts blowing up in the bushes. glad I didn't break the bank buying a new card. it plays pretty well as is. nothing profound thus far but fun enough

I sure as hell care about the console version. I am glad that I am not a PC snob so I can enjoy both worlds. The game is that bad ont he console, its just the graphics are obviously not what they are ont he PC, but otherwise its fun, even with 'only' 24 players max.

Yeah, I get the falling through the map issue. Something they changed from yesterday's update because it wasn't like this on the 27th or 28th. Even then, I still get kills when falling halfway through the map.

FYI, the rocks on the left side from attackers first point is made out of paper. Bullets will go through them so once you are tagged, get the fuck out of there otherwise be shot through solid rocks.

Yeah just figured this out. Game doesn't look too great. No where near the textures of the original Crysis or Crysis 2. Runs smoothly at 120fps though on Ultra settings.

How many times do we have to say it... its a neutered frostbite 2 engine, not even dx11 enabled yet. This is a stress test beta on making sure the game runs and find any bugs in the game. This is NOT the final product.

Lots of stuff missing in the game itself, animations, texture packs, etc...


Also, there are no ultra texture packs, its the same as high right now. Was not included in the beta.

Anyone know how to change your soldier ID? Is it directly tied to your EA account? If so that's absolutely retarded.

I had Prospero as a soldier name in BF2, but I find no way to change my soldier name in BF3, and there's no way to tie all your stats together from BF2, BC, BC2, etc.... it sucks. I hate EA stats.

Yeah, they were never gonna tie together stats across games man, that just wasn't gonna happen.

As far as soldier names, yeah it's gonna be tied to your account, like BF2 and BFBC2 were. You will probably get to make a "new" name for your solider though when the game actually releases, just like you were able to for the other games. Since this is a stress beta, they don't care, nor do you need the ability to change your name. None of these stats will be saved or carry over.

Its easy, this has multiplay, so you need a legit copy; Skyrim does not... I'll probably borrow my friends copy since he preordered his already.

And no Prospero, you can't change your Solider ID since its tied in as your Origin ID right now. They probably did this as to not overload the stats server in beta with everyone being able to create multiple alias. When the games goes public, it will more than likely be like BC2 and have multiple alias under your origin account.

If I remember correctly, BC2 beta was the same way; but I missed that beta.

Hey, just be glad the stats servers are working and not preventing you from accessing your achieved weapons. lol

Platoon = clan/facebook group. I like this idea built into the battlelog system. Your states are pooled as a collective so you can see your total KDR as a clan.

My clan is going to host a relatively large lan party in november down in SC. We may open up to non-clan members since we rented a 12k sqft building. Should be cool, throw a few projectors, ddr (yes... classic), movies, indoor football and shit.
