I wasn't just talking about base jumpers and wingsuits in general. I'm talking about flying wingsuits close to the ground, through trees and cracks, etc. That's stupid and basically asking for death..

^Even if you're not pushing it that close to the ground, or to bridges, or trees, I would think that with mother nature having the ability to perform a finishing move at any given time, it just doesn't seem like it's worth the rush. All it takes is a some wind and you're sunk, right? I'm sure you guys watch the weather relentlessly, but to me it all comes down to luck.

And if you keep doing these types of jumps, luck will eventually run out for everyone.

I would love to do this, it looks like an awesome rush. But there are just too many things that can go wrong, and life is precious.

I'm not sure what you mean by these types of jumps, but I assume you mean terrain flying. One thing that has killed quite a lot of people is flying in the afternoon. As mountains heat up and wind moves up the mountain it creates weird eddy effects every where. Everyone knows it's riskier to fly in the afternoon, but people do it anyway. In the morning the air is calm and a lot smoother and more consistent.

You choose the conditions to jump in, it's just that most people have a terrible sense of judgement. The number of fatalities from blatant idiocy in the past few years is just astounding.

I know several people that have quit very recently in response to the recent rash of fatalities (all their friends). Or, say they're quitting, anyway.

Sorry, that was a bad joke, but it wasn't directed at that particular kid.

It was just general commentary on how people says "the war is killing innocent children", or "drunk driving kills innocent children."

My point was, saying "innocent children" implies some are not. Which of course is not true, as children are children. So people should say "the war is killing children", etc.
