If he were promoted to Defensive Coordinator, he would have been called that. It's a made up title to keep him here.

It creates competition for Archer. It will either inspire him or destroy him.

i'm more concerned about Bible needing competition. Archer has the defense doing just fine.

Some of you give Tenuta way too much credit.

Archer's defenses at UK were terrible, and they were terrible at State prior to Tenuta arriving too. I'm not willing to call that a coincidence.

Our Defense has played like shit in games with Tenuta on the staff remember Cincy this year? i guess Tenuta missed the Plane?

I think they both work great together and when they have healthy experienced players the D is solid.

Saying that, not sure how the raise makes Archer feel and also don't know how much Archer makes.

I also agree the Bible comment. he coaches WRs and QBs he's older and missed games with an illness. might look for a stud recruiter WR coach?

^^ Yes, lets pick one of the games where our defensive line was terribly depleted. Go look up defensive rankings for Georgia Tech before and after Tenuta got there. Then go look at this on Archer http://www.statefansnationforums.com/topic.php?id=441

We sucked against FSU too. Archer's defense works when we have experienced DBs that can stay on their man long enough to cause the QB to hold onto the ball that second or two too long allowing our blitz to get to him. I think our defense has gotten better due to.s combination of Tenuta coming and our DBs growing up. Remember in 2008 when we were playing Wolff as a R-Fr, and Smith, Byrd, and Bishop as true Fr?

Did you people even watch those games? The offense never even got in field goal range during the FSU game, you can't put that on the defense. And the Maryland offense only scored 27 points in that game, their defense scored the other 14 points.

always funny to me when people count points scored by the defense as points allowed by the defense

that looks confusing, but I'm keeping it

Edmond's position is much higher up on the totem pole than Thunder Dan's.

He's also an alumnus, who played in the NFL.

I don't understand your outrage. Oh wait.....WolfpckGrl17. Nevermind.

Sorry, but many of those injuries in the early season are on the shoulders of the S&C program. That was Thunder Dan's responsibility.

It sucks for him, but it's called accountability.

Wait... Thunder Dan is the assistant S&C coach. Rice is the one who's out of a job. AFAIK Burnette is still with the program...

^^ LOL I know. Edmond is higher up, yes. Thunder was one of the assistant S&C coaches. IIRC, Thunder was signed with the Steelers, then was with the program at State ever since he got released or whatever. Either way, it sucks to see a former State player leave dissatisfied.

^ Coach Rice got fired for acting foolish.

^^ Considering that the ACC was complete ass in the bowl games this year, it makes sense that State should get some love. Plus we dominated that game, FSU barely won over an average ND team.

I'd say we probably "dominated" for maybe 2.5 quarters. We definitely didn't dominate start to finish, IMO.

Sands was the recruiter for Shadrach Thornton, who was already talking about visiting Ole Miss...this can't help our case with him.

damn that sucks. I guess I can't blame him for moving back to his home state, going to the SEC, and getting to coach one of the best RB's in the country.

I was looking forward to him coaching Moose, though.

Sands, easily. Tenuta brought an entirely different look to our defense while Sands made the running game marginally better.

Quote :
"9. North Carolina State Wolfpack

Way Too Early Ranking: 24
Home games: 7
Road games: 5
Nonconference opponents: Tennessee, Connecticut, South Alabama
Biggest test: At Clemson, TBD

All that stuff I just wrote about Clemson also applies to the Wolfpack. The only difference is they get an easier season-opening opponent in Atlanta. Tennessee had a rotten record in the Georgia Dome even when they were good. If the Wolfpack can get past the Vols there is a good chance they'll be 5-0 when they go back to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech, typically in early October."

^^^^ We're not going to play Georgia Tech this year, that writer didn't do his homework.
Neutral: Tennessee
Home: Wake Forest, Florida State, Boston College, Citadel, South Alabama, (?Virginia?)
Away: UNC, Maryland, Clemson, Uconn, (?Maimi?)

From the other side of the ACC (aside from UNC), we rotate home and away every 4 years-ish, unless it's Duke, in which case it's every 6-8 years-ish
