He had to pay a ton of money to Saul I thought...and then I thought Skylar spent the rest of it.

Or maybe that's backwards, because he went home for a hundred grad or so for the guy to make him disappear and he couldn't find any money at all. I can't remember.

As far as I know they don't have any excess money that is being laundered.

skylar wrote ted a check for around $630,000 or so. that was basically all the money walt had left. saul told him it'd cost a lot to make him and his family disappear, the money was gone when walt went to collect it.

i don't know that walt is currently broke, but he definitely doesn't have a ton of spending money to throw around until he can get cooking again.

also, pretty cool fan video here:

Yes, They have said on more than one occasion that they want a spin off about Better Call Saul with Vincent running the show.

^^yes!

^she has been? I don't remember her either. Until this season I've watched them all in a row on Netflix or the recap of 4 before this one, and this was the first we saw of her (or so I thought)

For the non-netflix peeps, does it seem like more commercials this season?

not really

one every 10 minutes or so right? I always expect one around the 42 minute and 51 minute marks at least

has anyone followed along this season with the AMC app? they have this live fancast or whatever during the premiere each week and every few minutes it brings up a flashback picture or a trivia question or viewer poll...synched up with the live premiere each week...pretty cool

they time it well though...sometimes 5-6 minutes between updates...and its all pertinent stuff...like when the FBI chief is talking about Gus it showed some flashback picture from last season of him shaking his hand at a fundraiser...its not like some long blog

I was slightly disappointed that Mike wouldn't kill homegirl (Lydia or w/e), but I guess it lets them come up with the chemical. Was she the original chemist with the German company? I don't remember her from anything and couldn't understand her intro

well it definitely benefits Mike not to kill her... if his money is going to be tied up by the DEA, he's going to need to earn just like WW.

If you haven't watched the show thoroughly, she's a new character, end of story there.

I'm a little disappointed in Mike for giving in to temptation and going in on a three-way split, I thought he was smarter than that. Although if the feds got his rainy day fund in his granddaughter's name, his hand is kinda forced.

That was the best opening scene I can remember in a while. And I loved the return of the roomba.

Points of discussion:

Is the chief (Hank's boss) being forced to resign? That's what I got at least. If there was any doubt over whether Hank suspects Walt, I think that has been put to bed. Who gets to be chief next, maybe Hank?

What was up with the vial of salt that Walt taped behind the outlet behind the nightstand?

What do you think Lydia's role will be going forward? It's been a while since the show introduced a new main character (especially a female) and she seems like the one.

I think Hank's boss was taking the fall for all the evidence (mainly the lab) being destroyed

Walt put a vial of salt in the cigarette to give to Jesse, he put the real poision behind the wall plate

Lydia will probably be around to get the methylmine and order exotic drinks at hole-in-the-wall diners

I went back and watched the last episode again and noticed something. That chick Lydia is sitting at the table when the Germans come and talk to the feds. After the guy's lawyer says "alleged actions" she slyly appears in the background with a nice bit of camera work. So she's somehow on the board at Madrigal and there's some kind of German connection with her.

Fuck it

Whatever happened to the original ricin cigarette? I take it that Jesse was looking for it to confirm that he didn't poison the kid but I don't remember if they ever tried to use it otherwise.

and I know Walt took it out of the cigarette

Shit needs to hit the fan soon, these setup episodes are getting annoying.

I mean, we're 3 episodes into an 8 episode season (I know it's 16, but 8 are this year, so to me we have 2 short season. Hurry up with the action!

Yeah, Huell was what I was wondering about.

Was that a subtle threat from Walt to Jesse at the end of the show?
