we all knew not to get our hopes up too high this season. It's Gott's first year. He turned a lazy, selfish team into a somewhat competitive team. We have at least 3 McDonald's All Americans coming in next year.

Yeah the Duke game was a tease but hey im for once happy about the future of NC State basketball.

Agreed, we're right on track with where I expected us to be this year. Maybe even a little further. I'm happy with how Gottfried and staff has transformed the team.

I mean, we lost Tracy (our best player), and Javi and Ryan (our two PGs), and Vandenburg... and gained very little to replace them.

Quite frankly, yes, I expected a final four appearance by this point in the season. I don't see it as a pie-in-the-sky expectation, and I'm a little disappointed.

i'm obviously pleased with the improvement from last season to now, but at the moment i am disappointed that we are allowing our tournament chances to slip away. we shouldn't just win games against teams with losing records.

Many of us said before the last game that Howell, Leslie, etc can't try to force up shots against UNC's front-line. Well ... they tried anyway, and the results were horrid. If we do that shit again, we're going to get embarrassed again. At least Gott seems to get it ... from the WS Journal

les's best season was his first, i'm pretty sure, last NCAA til sendek halfway. Fire and ice as seniors right? But it would be a stretch to call it "his" team.

Les was actually a pretty good coach. He was just handcuffed as a recruiter. I don't think people realize how bad the talent was that we had coming in. I mean...I don't know if Les got a total of maybe 5 top 100 recruits while he was coaching...and that wasn't his fault. He was told to get the program back in shape, graduate his players, and not get into any trouble (keep the players out of trouble too). The fact that he actually won any games with the scrubs we had on those teams shows he was at the very least, an average coach.

Damn youngins don't know the mess we were in when Les took over.
