A lot of the things they are complaining about are bugs that will be fixed quickly. Some of the other things they are complaining about are just because they are not very good at the game.

There are two major things that people keep coming back to, though:

1) City size
2) Online-only play

I don't care about the second one, and I'm not sure if I will care about the first or not. I think the regional play aspect will go a long ways toward making it not a concern for me, but we'll see.

I don't mind online only, i'm always online anyways, but part of my "workflow" for SimCity is saving often when I want to have fun trying out something crazy or playing around with disasters. I like to keep multiple revisions without destroying my city. If I can't do that, its a big problem for how I like to play it.

I've only played the Hasbro Xcom games and I thought they were disliked/unpopular because of how shitty the interface was.

I've only ever played Civ 4 for like 4 hours so I can't really comment on this

Starcraft 2 is terrible and as an esport its deader than Dota 2 which is impressive.
