CJL was pretty philosophical during that post game interview. I hope that there are not going to be any locker room issues this year, because Zo, RH and CJL could make a claim to be the man, but the press is just giving it to CJL.

I can not wait for the Duke game. I hope that bs foul calls dozn't ruin it.

I wouldn't worry about chemistry, those 3 guys and Wood are pretty tight.

Without looking at the remaining schedule, is Duke our next formidable opponent?

Nevermind. BC and GT. Can't take any conference games for granted...

GT the game before is ranked #63. It's a home game so we should win, but it could definitely be a competitive game

Lewis got a lot of minutes at the end of the game over Zo, hopefully for the best.

Howell has played in front of two full ACC crews this year. Fouled out both times.

Another good win. Love that the team isn't sleepwalking through these games - they showed some nice hustle and intensity through a lot of the game.

Howell going down was a scary moment.

Brown's best all-around game of the season imo.

^^ scary to think of it, but do the ACC refs have something against him? His last foul was total bullshit.

They know his record of fouling out and apply it to their judgement. It's bullshit but it's how officials operate. It's the same reason guys like Hansblow got the benefit of the doubt in nearly every charge call.

LOL, BC will be one of the worst teams we play all season long, including OOC. They and Wake are battling it out for worst BCS conference team in Pomeroy.

There was no over and back call on that possession. Ball went right back to W. Michigan after the T.

^Also it clearly bounced off Zo's foot so he may've wanted a kicked ball

worked all day so i watched the game on DVR, a few notes/thoughts:

- I liked Whittenburg as an announcer, good to have somebody calling a game who isn't gonna criticize every play
- Howell is indeed a bull
- Wood had some great looks and passes
- I still think Purvis is a better freshman than Warren, better slasher and defender, though Warren is a better shooter and scorer
- Lewis is obviously the least polished of the 3 freshmen, but I think he is slowly coming along
- Do Gott and the other coaches always teach Vandy to double team on the perimeter? Seems like it works less often than it doesn't
- Good win overall, my nitpicking criticism would be free throw shooting...though if your FG% is as good as anyone in the country, I guess you can afford to brick some free throws

In the first half he single-handedly surrendered at least 6 points to their driving point guard in about a 2 or 3 minute span. I don't know that he's coming along. We'll see.

yeah he looked like shit in the first half, but played ok in the 2nd half, albeit against similar competition in less-pressure situations, ie garbage time

he's obviously been nowhere near as ready as Purvis and Warren, but I'm not ready to give up on his career after a dozen games

I doubt we see Lewis play any more than the absolute minimum when it matters. Only if purvis and brown need a break at the same time. I'm guessing they'd rather use vandy, Leslie/Howell, warren, wood, purvis before he gets in. I don't doubt he can be good in time, but it's probably not this year

dont think they called over and back. looked like he was pissed they didnt call it a kick.

it's not malicious its just the "tendencies" bullshit. they know howell as the guy who reaches for steals 40 feet from the basket and picks up dumb fouls so the whistle is already half blown whenever he's near the ball. nevermind that he isn't as reckless anymore, it's all about tendencies!

ehhh I get what you're going for here but warren is just so insanely good at scoring it makes up for the fact that he does literally nothing else

we are going to have major problems next season if he continues to care as much about defensive rebounding as gary williams did recruiting, though

IF he ever cools off then yea, purvis contributes more. but we're past the point of this being a hot streak. ok, he's not actually a 70% shooter. 60%? maybe

also purvis still has one or two freshman moments every game. they seem to be getting less frequent but we really don't need him in HERO MODE the rest of the season when we have 3 guys shooting insane percentages and wood doing his thing

Warren's defense is ok...rebounding, at 6'8 and his body, should be better however. But you could say that about our entire team. We go 6'5, 6'3, 6'6, 6'8 and 6'8. There are just too many instances where we are standing around looking at the ball being shot and the other team has players running in to grab the rebound. Thats why we give up so many 2nd chance points is because they usually have a wide open layup because our guys are stuck in mud.

Purvis plays very good defense. His outside shot is not on like it was in the first few games, but I like that he isn't settling for it...he is going to the rim. Most of his points come off of the fast break. He still needs work on getting to the rim in the half court. He settles for floaters far too often.

Lewis is athletically inferior to about every opponent he will face. He will have to learn to defend and play in a savy manner. I think he can get better and will get better, but I don't know if I expect him to be our starting PG over the next few years. He was getting taken to the basket by a white guy that was about his size and about his athleticism with ease today.

Our best lineups, in my opinion are: Brown, Purvis, Wood, Howell, Leslie or Brown, Purvis, Warren, Howell, Leslie. Purvis' defense on guards is just what we need.

Our worst lineup, that i've seen over the past few games: Lewis, Wood, Warren, Leslie, Vandenburg. I think something similar to that lineup was the one that gave up that run in the first half today. That lineup is horrible in every facet of the game.

I don't think the problem with Warren's rebounding is his ability.

It's that he'd rather be running down the court for a lay up or dunk.

When we're on offense he rebounds just fine because that means he gets an easy putback.

^yeah, I never meant that he didn't have the ability to rebound. I'm just saying, he needs to use his 6'8 wide body to get down there and grab some of those loose balls. I understand he wants to get out on the break, and I want him to as well, because he is a great finisher. But we are giving up way too damn many 2nd chance points for us to have a wide 6'8 body at the half court line before the ball hits the rim.

Every time Vandy comes in I miss Painter so bad. With Painter we would possibly be a top 5 team. He left us to play for a pitiful ODU team. Hell I wonder if TDT is regretting his move. He wasn't Vandy bad.

No it is not. He is consistently out of position and incredibly lazy on the defensive end.

TDT left because his dad was sick I really doubt he is regretting his move. I still think it would be interesting to see Robinson get a couple minutes. While he is not tall (6'8") he seem quick and plays bigger than his size.

The WMU coach was giving shit to the gray-haired official all game. Several "fucks" and "shits" with his dialogue with the ref. The play or two before the tech, the ref said, "don't talk to me anymore like that." And then boom the technical.
