^^ I would say that was dead on- its like all Japanese giant robot cartoons rolled into one... and then converted into a PG13 date night movie. I wouldn't go so far to say it was great, or even good, but for a movie that wasn't bad- it could have been much, much worse.

this movie will not stand up in a traditional home viewing environment. This was an IMAX 3D spectacle. and on that, it delivered wonderfully.

My thoughts exactly. This is one of the two movies i saw this year ONLY for IMAX 3D enjoyment. (the other being Gravity).

these are kaiju, which are in the same realm as Godzilla - "strange creatures" (ie, giant monsters). they are not Toho kaiju though, belonging to the group containing Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, MechaGodzilla, King Ghidorah, etc
