i thought there was something off with that female "victim" from the train attack that survived. something just didn't seem right with her the whole time and wouldn't ya know, she's the freakin mother of the twins! i didn't see that coming.

and Emma STILL sucks

After watching last season and this season, you have to suspect EVERYONE.

Ryan Hardy is Joe Carroll.

^^once Ryan Hardy grew attached to her I knew she was in on it. There was no way the writers and casting directors would cast someone that looked too much like Claire and not have her be entangled in this mess.

I gotta start watching season 2 now.

yeah she's the chick from devil's advocate

and are we sure claire is dead? would be twisted to have sent her into government protected hiding and let hardy think she was dead for her safety

I'm RAPIDLY losing interest in this show.

TWIST girl kills mother to be with Joe.
TWIST girl Ryan's into turns out to be the twins' mother.
NEXT TWIST Mike from the FBI has been converted.

Given how much I hate to give up on shows, I'll give it a few more episodes, but there's very little I can see right now that's going to keep me interested.

Is anyone else feeling the same, or are you still in on it?

I liked how the chick was very skillfully (tv-wise) fighting Hardy (perhaps with an upper-hand), then he pulls his weapon and she goes from bad ass to damsel in distress in a half a second, and all of a sudden the same people who were just watching this fight from 10ft away restrain Hardy. Not her, not both of them... just Hardy (after he claimed to be a federal agent). They bought the damsel in distress thing when they just watched her kicking his ass and he was telling her to freeze (not shooting, not mugging her, telling her not to move).

This show can be pretty stupid at times. But I'm still watching.

^ I'm curious to know why people hate Emma too. I mean, aside from the fact that she's a murdering, kidnapping, cult member who is dependent on the cult leader. But that's her character. I don't find the character annoying in that I want her to leave the cult, get killed off, etc. just so she's off the show or anything. It seems like some people here would prefer that.

Honestly, I find Hardy (this season) much more annoying than Emma.

I was going along with this season until this last episode. I don't understand why Hardy is so against using the fbis resources, it's annoying as shit now.

Also anyone else notice how they haven't brought up Ryan's pacemaker yet this season? They made it a point to allude to it almost every episode last year

^^ I'm pretty sure the alluded to it when he collapsed in the woods after running from the old factory. I know he was shot, but he grabbed at his chest.

And yes, I really hated that he has refused to work with the FBI. it's asinine that he's refused to work with them. It's only a way for the showrunners/writers to make this season different since he was brought in as a consultant last season. This would have just been the same thing. But it's gotten to the point where it just doesn't make a lot of sense within the story. The only point of redemption there is that I think he genuinely wants to just kill Joe. And that would be easier to do (and get away) without the FBI beside him.

^see I was thinking both of those things, but he wasnt exactly following the FBIs rules last season so it's not like he would be worried about them impeding his search, if anything they would help. And I dont think he cares about getting imprisoned or killed as long as he is the one who personally kills Carroll.

As far as the scene where he got shot, I said out loud to my wife "finally they make mention of his heart issues" when he fell to the ground, but I think its pretty obvious he was grabbing at his gunshot wound. They would've played the irregular/slowed heartbeat sound if it was the pacemaker.

I just don't see how they can drag this on past this season.

I think it kind of makes sense for him not to trust the FBI.

If you keep your information to a small team you trust(him and his niece), then less likely any of that information gets leaked. Think we've seen that the FBI has leaks(namely the head woman's ex). Plus Hardy knows what he has to do, and he can't do that with the FBI being involved. He can work outside of their limitations including torture and killing people when he needs to. The FBI has proven to be nothing but incompetent and a step behind through this whole case.

It would basically be like you're in school and you have an assignment and you can either work alone or partner up with another kid in class that has a rich family that can get you a bunch of neat stuff to use but overall will just slow you down with questions/concerns.

That and the fact that Hardy has already said he wants to kill Joe ASAP, and I don't think the FBI would condone that approach.

Yeah, the premise is just too dependent on these two characters (hardy and carroll), and they can't both keep getting away, keep not killing each other, etc.

I think this season has definitely gone darker than last season, and I'm enjoying it.

Really enjoying the gritty version of Hardy over the "always short of breath" version we saw last year.

So far I haven't really seen any "plot twists" that have wowed me. Thought it was obvious early on that the blond chick was going to be a villain, she seemed entirely too much like last year's girl and got too close too quick for it not to be a setup.

For this week's episode(***spoiler alert***), once I saw the dad and son arguing I knew that was an obvious setup. I thought it was obvious they were going to pick one Emma or the other girl to be the "sacrifice" but that they actually wouldn't sacrifice them. Was a little surprised they straight murdered dude's dad though, that was cold haha.

Does anyone else think that the way that reporter got her story from Ryan for her book (taking advantage of him while he is drunk) is a little rapey? I can't help but think if the roles were reversed and the reporter was a man, he be going to jail.

^Yeah but reporters seem to do things like that on the regular according to most TV shows/movies. I would question exactly how accurate her "sources" would be considered if she used his name and then he brought up exactly how that went down. Doesn't seem like something Hardy would really want to deal with.

Also, 2nd season has been much better than the 1st, at least to me.

i'm just as happy with Emma being killed as i was with Joffrey being killed on GoT. i could not take that chick, ever.

i'd love to know how the twins just magically showed up at the lodge to capture Claire. how the hell did they know they would be there? i guess they somehow followed Emma and Robert? but that doesn't even make sense.

as for the actor who plays the twins, yeah it is just him playing both roles. i was reading where he has to shoot every scene twice so they can splice it together for the full scene with both twins. he does a really good job at separating the 2 roles.

Decent season finale.

However, the biggest problem I see with this show is how can they continue indefinitely? For the quality of the this drama I really don't think it can go more than one more season.

I thought it was a pretty lame finale episode. I like how they left a cliffhanger at the end, but there were so many plot holes throughout the episode it kinda pissed me off.

Like, what was the point of the guy hitting the car that Ryan was driving Joe in, on the way to meet the twins? They got into what could've been a deadly for Joe (especially since he was in handcuffs at the time), but ultimately the only purpose it served was to get Joe out of the handcuffs. Completely unnecessary

he was trying to rescue Joe from capture. his execution of how to do it just sucked completely cause he could've killed the person he was trying to rescue.

Joe gave him a little nod when they were leaving the church, then when the guy shows up (per the request of Joe) he gets shot.

I'm not sure where your confusion is coming from. Everything that happened regarding that seemed pretty straightforward to me.

That guy was obviously stationed outside the church as a back up plan to help Joe if something went wrong. Then after something did go wrong he did what he was supposed to do and followed and helped him escape.

Yes he did a crappy job "helping Joe" get away from Ryan, but that whole sequence was fucking retarded anyway. To wit: after the van rearended Ryan's car Ryan could easily have outran the van. Instead he didn't, and then the car inexplicably flips, which is just your random bullshit Hollywood physics in play. And then Joe told this guy he did a bad job, so that shows us that obviously that wasn't the intended consequence.

Finally, the reason Joe killed this guy was b/c the only way he was going to get to see Claire was if he and Ryan both went to see the twins. Obviously when Joe sent up the plan with this other guy he had no idea that he might be leaving the church to see Claire. Hence, plans changed and that guy was disposal. Thus, why Joe shot him.

At least that's how it all played out for me when I was watching the episode.
