problem is cabrera AND fielder want to play defense full time... both slow obviously, and only 1 can play 1st base. pick your poison.

v-mart is the DH and he is even worse in the field. catches on rare occasions.

when vmart moves on after this season, Cabrera will be playing more DH and 1B and Fielder will be playing more DH

remember, Castellanos (our top prospect and one of the top prospects in all of baseball) was a 3B and just this year he's been playing LF. My guess is he plays some games at 3B some at LF when they call him up eventually

If it werent for the fucking bullpen being one of the shittiest units in the league, this team easily wins 100 games.

Now we start the playoofs on the road because of them. With all of the money being spent, how could this not have been addressed? How could Leyland's love for guys like phil coke and al alberquerque not be suppressed by management?

as another tdub A's fan - I am not as convinced we have the upper hand. Guys on stacked teams like DET underperform year in and year out because they've always assumed its in the bag. Don't take a whole lot out of DET recent play when they obviously had already lost home field advantage and had the division wrapped.

Can they turn the star power & motivation back on for playoffs? We'll see...

Not that scared of Verlander. Not saying he isn't a great pitcher, but whenever Scherzer has been playing the A's have problems. We've beaten Verlander before and we can do it again. I should also mention you wont have a fan to bail you out either in O.Co
