He's streaky, going through a slump, and still 40% on the year. Calm the fuck down.

why is it we're playing him like he's scott wood? I mean...I appreciate a hot 3-shooter as much as anyone, but the consistency just isn't there unless the game is tight or it's too late.

^i think you have short term memory. he's been pretty non existent the last 4 or so games. but on the whole this year, he's been pretty comparable to wood. wood was pretty damn streaky and could be shut down at times. turner (assuming he can be healthy when he's on the court) is just as deadly as wood. he needs to be getting just as much run as wood did. when he's not hitting he's kinda useless. just like wood.

He shot 22% tonight. Let him come off the bench until he earns a starting spot again.

With his shot going away he needs less playing time because his defense is terrible. It didn't show up tonight until a big play with about two minutes to go when he left Anya out to dry when his guy blew past him to the basket.

Don't forget the wide open Nolte three. Classic Turner.

Hear that? Turner just clanked another 3. I agree, at this point I'd rather see him come off the bench. It seemed to help Cat. It's bad when Washington has become a more reliable 3 point threat.

If Turner is hurt, don't play him. This isn't baseball where we can use him as a DH and not worry about his shit defense. Maybe if he sits for two weeks, his knees will start to get better. At this point, we have nothing to lose since we are losing every game any way.

Scott Wood never got credit for his help side defense. Obviously he wasn't the best defender but he wasn't as poor as everyone makes him sound.

[Edited on February 12, 2015 at 10:36 AM. Reason : But yeah, I think Dez should be getting some of Turner's minutes tbh]

If I were Turner I wouldn't care. Last few games of organized basketball I'm probably going to play. Most likely not going pro. Make the most of my days as a Senior.

Its upto Gott to bench him.

The 6-6 Wood finished his career in Raleigh as NC State's all-time leader with 334 made 3-pointers.

Wood was at his best as a senior in 2012-13, posting career highs in points per game (12.6), field goal percentage (.436) and 3-point percentage (.441).
Turner averages .375 on the season from beyond the arc, 12.7 PPG at a worse .398 percentage.

Nope...it's not wood.

if we're comparing the two, turner is better than wood at getting his shot off. he doesn't need near as much space as wood. turner isn't as consistent as wood...and neither were/are very useful when they aren't hitting their shots.

if turner is hurt...he shouldn't be playing this much. pretty simple

yeah turner's been shitty the last few games. before that he was balling

this thread is as streaky as turner's shooting.

and now we're back to the "turner sucks balls" again

Solid game cause he didn't constantly jack up contested shots, actually played with the flow of the game.

I have been hard on him lately. He got scored on two straight possessions in the first half where he left his man wide open and I thought here we go again. Thankfully he seemed to step up after that, his defense improved and he got several hustle rebounds, and he hit some big shots, including the shot of the game when he hit his last three.

He makes some lazy passes too. But he is who he is. Hit some huge shots tonight and is playing much better the last two games

Hit some huge shots at pivotal times in the game. He also didn't seem to take any truly bad shots. I did laugh at the fall on the court, hang out and see what happens, "oh shit, I better get back there for a fast break" play.

You live with the bad (lazy passes and lazy D) because when his shot is falling it's such a huge weapon. His threes almost single handedly stymied UNCs run. Hopefully his knee is close to 100% for the run in because having him limp around out there and have every shot hit the front of the rim was painful to watch for a couple weeks.

Loved how made the announcer was about Ralston "cherry picking" when he fell down. Sounded like the racist uncle beginning his condemnation jiggaboo street ball ruining the white man's game.

^the announcers were pretty shitty overall...possibly drunk. Got Paige and Cat mixed up multiple times. And just made some awful, odd mistakes that you usually don't hear

Yeah I'm pretty sure there was a sequence when Cat threw the ball away and they called him Paige, then on the very next possession Ralston hit a 3 and they said something to the effect of "You can't leave Lacey open like that"

Dan Bonner is great. Tim Brandt ( play by play) is usually bad, to his credit he called our football and bball wins in CH this year.

Was I mistaken, or did I hear the announcers on multiple occasions state "excellent defense from Turner there"?
