I just don't see him as the Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose or Kyrie Irving (who looked amazing at Duke before getting hurt) type of talent right out of the gate.

most of his points seem to come from dunks or hustle plays. he's a super athlete and I think he's going to be really good eventually but I don't think his offensive game is super well-rounded at this point. he's not a great shooter either.

of course, this comes from only watching him on the all-star games and youtube so what do I know. definitely looking forward to seeing him and Jabari Parker go against each other at the Champions Classic game in November.

sidenote - UNC is going to suck next year. and if Hairston or Paige get injured, they're going to REALLY suck.

UNC definitely won't suck, but I don't think they're a top 10 team either. Hairston was one of the best players in the ACC at the end of the year, but it will be interesting to see if losing Bullock will allow defenses to focus on him more. I was impressed with Paige at the end of the year as well...he's got a nice stroke. If Macadoo can actually improve and their bug guys develop, then they will be scary come tournament time. But it will be interesting to see if Roy tries to pound it inside to less skilled big men now that Bullock is gone and he has more big bodies...might not be the best idea.

But you're a stupid Duke fan if you think they're going to suck.

LOL UNC will not suck next year. Hairston is a scary good when he is on. Paige made huge strides last year and was legit by the end of the season. Assuming he keeps progressing, he'll be one of the best PGs in the ACC. JMM is overrated, but he's still a big body that is good in transition. UNC's season will hinge on how well the other guys accept their roles. Overall though they are a top-25 team that could be a top-15 team by the end of the year. Thank God they did not get Wiggins.

^ While I hope that is true by the end of the season, Lewis is not currently better than Paige. Lewis looks like he is the better passer and less turnover prone, but Paige is a much better shooter/scorer right now. Granted if Lewis had Paige's minutes, maybe we could say Lewis > Paige.

I'm saying it right now, so obviously it is true.

paige is a better 3 point shooter, not a better scorer. paige only shot 36.8 from inside the 3 point line, lewis was at 42%. and if you use points per 40 min, they both average 11 points.

lewis also has a 2.2 A/T ratio compared to 1.9 for paige.

they are both good, i would just rather have lewis. he's shown flashes of brilliance that i've never seen in a point guard at state in my lifetime.

UNC was not a good team last year. they went 21-1 against teams outside the Sagarin Top 50 and 3-10 against teams inside the Sagarin Top 50. they lost to pretty much every good team they played and trailed by 20 plus in a bunch of those losses. they lose their two best defenders from last season as well as their second best player. they've got no one coming in to replace what Bullock gave them (14 points, 6.5 rebounds a game, 43% 3 point shooting). they also have no depth at all at the wing spots.

James Michael McAdoo was one of the least efficient players in the ACC last year. he used 470 fg attempts to score 518 points. his stats against good teams are atrocious. same for Paige... while he played better at the end of the year, most of his good numbers came against bad teams. as for their new players, I don't see Meeks playing many minutes this year, he's pushing 300 pounds. Hicks could be good but he's similar to McAdoo, a tweener who's somewhere between a 3 and a 4.

Hairston scares me (could win ACC POY), but a lineup of - Paige, Leslie McDonald, Hairston, McAdoo, Hubert? James? - shouldn't scare anyone
