Fnally got this for PS3. I actually like the new recruiting. I like the new gameplay. All-American may be a little too easy though as I am 3-0 with State in my dynasty after beating #4 Clemson. Took me a game to figure out this Pistol Spread (only beat LTU 10-0). Clemson shredded my defense, but I put up 38 pts to beat them 38-35. I like the fact that unless you have a guy with elite speed in the backfield, you're not gonna be able to break off a long, long, long run. Longest rush so far with Thornton(91 spd) is like 40 yds. I get caught every time.

From what I've seen so far(half season of dynasty), LudaChris has it nailed down on the previous page. I agree with pretty much everything he put on there. Funny glitch that happened to me in the Wake Forest game...

Brandon Mitchell drops back, throws a fade into the endzone to Payton...ball gets tipped and intercepted by a Wake Forest defensive back who runs out of the back of the endzone...for a touchdown. I couldnt even be mad.

Only played a few games but i feel like the new gameplay sucks even on heisman. Its all offense.

-no pass rush= all day to throw (im ncstate vs bama and ohio state)
-zone defense doesn't work at all
-defenders are on skates
-no turnovers unless you throw it right to a guy but theres no pass rush so you dont need to
-guys catch everything

every year people that suck at the game complain that it is too hard then they make the game more and more pathetic arcadey every year. I know in like 2010 +-1 year it was nearly impossible to score but ever since then they have overcompensated.

defense is nonexistant in this game. The read option is INSANELY over powered and pretty much every QB you face is going to go 22/26 for how many ever yards. You have to manually do pretty much everything because it seems like CPU player awareness is stuck at 4.

If you level up your DC it does tend to help with some things(I focused on pass rush and man coverage since I don't really like zone in NCAA games), and I've noticed improvement. Getting more INT's(still not a ton of passes defended), more break-ups, and a decent number of sacks from my DL.

But it's rare I keep an opposing QB <60% completions, last I can recall is GT, but it's only my 2nd season.

I'll agree with the read-option being a little too strong. Seems like every QB who runs it also can't fumble the ball or really get banged up. Also seems like they've put extra emphasis on rivalry games, seems like the CPU gets more breaks when it's an away rivalry game.

Also getting better at recruiting the 2nd year, looking at my 2nd straight top 10 class and a couple 5* players this go-round.

I've found you pretty much have to run contain QB pretty much every play when you're running against a person doing that.

Never understood why someone would think EA could create a realistic simulation engine. That's what I don't get about coach mode. It's a video game. I play to throw 15 TDs a game.

is it ultrarealistic? no... is it better than not having a game period? yes. And if you can do something in the game to make it MORE realistic, why not do it.

And the wanting to throw 15 TDs is just totally foreign to me. Once you do stuff like that the game looses all remote association with the thing that the person is a fan of in the first place (college football).

I've never played coach mode. Can you audible at the line? Like if you use great football knowledge to call a run to the right off tackle, then you notice a safety creeps down into the box on that side...can you audible the run to the left? If they stack the box, can you audible to a passing play? The quarterback would normally do those things, so I didn't know if Coach Jaybee could make pre-snap adjustments after the play has been sent in to QB Robot3000

never thought I'd see the day. Oh well.

Anyways, I started a dynasty with San Jose State. They don't have great talent, which is the fun part. However, after playing Navy in my 2nd season, I will never, ever, ever again schedule a team that runs option plays primarily. 500+ rushing yds allowed. multiple 50+ yd runs where my linebackers and defensive backs ran into blockers instead of the RB. All this after I defeated #10 Fresno State(passes primarily). The option game as a whole is freaking nuked. It can be a fun game against a team that plays balanced. However, if its primarily option...you're screwed.

^which is funny because this engine is supposed to be very similar to the madden 13 engine. And it feels similar. However I never had as much success running the read option in madden 13 as I do in this game. no where near.

Yeah played GT and Oregon in back-to-back games(ACC Championship, BCS Championship)...that's a lot of option back-to-back, haha.

Luckily my offensive game is pretty solid, because I couldn't stop the option all that much. Seemed like every time I got good penetration with my DE when the QB would keep it, the QB would just do a little swerve move and my guy would brush right off of him, drove me nuts.

And the lack of forced fumbles in this game is pretty funny. Think I forced maybe 5 fumbles on the season, maybe recovered 1-2, and I use the hit stick pretty regularly.

Ok, finished 3 seasons now.

1. Read-Option is over-powered if you have a good mobile QB. In past games the QBs would fumble a lot more often, doesn't seem to be an issue at all this year. Basically have to have shootouts with option teams, though I did slow down GT's triple option with a few schemes. Would hate to go back to an offense without a running QB in this game.

2. Recruiting isn't as bad as I thought it was at first. A.) I've gotten the hang of the point allotments and B.) I maxed out my HC on recruiting skills. That combination has made it a lot easier, I think I landed 5 4* recruits before the season started. Currently about 6-7 games in and rocking the #1 class and I've hit all my positions of need. Also loving the new aspects of OV's and bonus points for doing certain things.

3. I like the Fantasy Team game mode, it is a little different and fun to get new player cards, but I hate that each card only lets you use that player X number of times. Like if I get the TJ Graham card, I can only use him in like 25 games unless I unlock an "extension" card to use on him. Also sucked unlocking Russell Wilson just to see him rocking the Wisconsin uniform on the card haha. Do like that they give you new players each week, also glad they stopped just giving QB/RB/WR and finally gave a D player this week.

4. Seems to be some AI built in that one team winning more can improve the conference, because multiple ACC teams are in the top 10 each year(GT, VT, FSU) with me.

5. The "commentary" during the game is just pathetically bad. Wrong calls, wrong names, terrible logic, etc.

Yeah I love when I convert a 3rd down, but barely, and Kirk's audio byte basically says "it's a shame they didn't get it there, they were so close to the first down, they'll probably have to punt now." Very confusing, haha.

Also I'm starting to think recruiting gets TOO easy when you max out your recruiting tree and you have some solid winning seasons under your belt. I'm literally having to turn away 4/5* recruits because I already have too many 4/5* commits at their spot this season and need to fill other holes. I'm basically landing 4* or better guys without putting more than about 100 points into recruiting them(scout + offer).

is the game still on xbox marketplace for 10 bucks? I sold my PS3 copy about 4 months ago and i've had the itch to start another dynasty where I build a crap team up. Last time I did it with San Jose State and I had them getting into the Top 25 in about 5 seasons on Heisman. Then Georgia wanted to hire me, so I definitely did that. Played 2 seasons, got tired of it and sold it. I'd definitely cop it on the 360 for 10 bucks though.
