if Elissa wins MVP again I wonder if the producers get rid of it. Its a very unfair advantage that she holds every week. She would've been gone each of the first two weeks if not for the MVP.
I do applaud her (and Helen's) gameplay to keep her in the house despite being the initial target, but its still horseshit that she gets a chance to nominate someone else every week 7/16/2013 7:45:20 AM |

I firmly believe that BBMVP was a new twist added to the gameplay AFTER they decided Elissa would be joining the contestants. It wasn't hard to guess that she would be an early target b/c of her sister. I think they knew she would win the MVP each week and that would be a good way for her to stay in the game longer. 7/16/2013 8:20:44 AM |

they should have made it a rule that you can't be MVP in consecutive weeks.
too late for that now, that ship has sailed 7/16/2013 8:31:02 AM |

I'm fine with it but I'd like to see a couple changes. First - if you are the MVP you do not have to nominate someone, but if you do your status as the MVP will be revealed (would make for more interesting gameplay, at least in a game where Elissa wasn't around). Second - if the MVP nominates you and you win veto/someone else uses veto on you then the MVP cannot nominate someone else. Both the first two weeks the MVPs second nomination was the one eliminated. That is a lot of power for no reason.
I think it would make it so the MVP is basically America giving you a chance to take a shot at someone but its a more risky move.
Granted this would also rely on a system where Elissa isn't MVP each week. 7/16/2013 9:25:37 AM |

yeah right now MVP>HOH
and not only that, but both times MVP has evicted someone while up for nomination
kinda BS

This is the first time I've ever watched BB, I don't understand how mcrae and those guys hat voted nick out think he's a bigger threat than the girl who wins MVP every week. Plus it's funny how the girls feel so fucking slighted in the game but so far two guys have left 7/16/2013 12:13:53 PM |

you're right, Spencer keeps making the point that they can "weaponize" Elissa with her MVP vote every week, but if they really thought about it, she has the most power in the house right now. If they got rid of her then the other houseguests would get a chance to win MVP too.
I really do wonder what the producers will do if/when Elissa wins MVP again. It will be painfully obvious at that point that their twist blew up in their faces 7/16/2013 1:36:54 PM |

^I honestly think that was their goal.
Big Brother and Survivor love bringing back old contestants or relatives of the contestants in order to get ratings and to make it more "exciting"
Remember when Rachel was voted out of the house during her season and then their was a "pandora box twist" that ended up bringing her back in the house or something like that...
Great timing for that "twist" 7/16/2013 1:44:25 PM |

She is the only play with an established fan base cheering for her. For some bizzaro reason tons of people love Rachel and they are all the type who would actually vote for some big brother thing. Unless someone else has a personality that makes them super popular with fans nobody will beat her. And nobody in this house has that personality as for the most part they are all confrontational and suck.
That is if you are even assuming that MVP isn't rigged. Thats the one thing I hate about BB, they rig so much stuff. I guarantee as long as Elissa is in the house they will keep her MVP except for the one week where it will help the story for someone else to win it.
I'm also pretty sure that Elissa will win MVP again this week and put up someone like Howard or Jeremy but even still we will see Aaryn go home. I'm sure the producers are pushing them hard during their interviews to get her out of the house.

MVP sucks when the same person wins every time and the house knows who it is. hopefully it will be better once elissa goes home. its ironic that CBS tried to sell it as a way to get floaters out when the exact opposite has happened 7/16/2013 6:13:32 PM |

i dont see either of them as a threat to anyone I would put up someone worth voting for, like Howard
I dont think the HG are going to ever actually know that america was the MVP, thats actually pretty cool
there are A LOT of floaters no one seems really worth getting rid of right now (talking purely GAME) Jeremy was by far a guy that HAD to go for everyone's sake as far as being a threat
I guess maybe howard and spencer for proving to be bad liars and now thats their reputation its hard to trust them...howard has the potential to beast competitions as well as being untrustworthy thats why id put him up.

I'm still trying to figure out why GM voted for Jeremy to leave. I thought she was on his side. Kaitlyn has to know that she's all alone now and it may be tough for her to forge new alliances.
As an aside I feel like anyone on the show that actually has fallen for any of the girls' crying is pretty damn gullible...

she would have been the only outlier if she hadn't voted for him...
Kaitlin doesn't count because they all knew she wouldn't vote for Jeremy
at least this is my assumption based on my very limited knowledge of how this game works

eh maybe i was mistaken. I thought that she mentioned Aaryn, GM and Kaitlin, and really wanted Howard gone but thought he had to be backdoored. Meanwhile, they showed Aaryn and Judd talking and he more or less made it sound like she was safe (looked that way from my POV at least). And then Judd put her up for eviction after Amanda was beating him over the head about it.
I watched BB after dark last night (first time this season for me) and it seems like everyone hates Elissa now? Should be interesting to see how that plays out.
Also I think its hilarious how much a lot of the cast smokes cigarettes, and yet they magically edit that out for the shows them selves. Can't show people smoking evil cigarettes on TV!!!! 7/24/2013 11:16:20 AM |
BigHitSunday Dick Danger 51059 Posts user info edit post |
what i like about Candice and Howards game as opposed to Amanda and McCrae is that Howard and Candice actually interact with the rest of the house then get together and talk game that is mostly accurate
with the build up of people beginning to realize howard needs to go he might want to stop throwing comps soon and start winning. Him jumping off the popsicle with only 5 minutes and struggling to swim on a float were comically obvious. He needs to start taking control of who stays and goes.
The house is really pissed off at amanda after last night. Apparently she was spreading rumors which caused elissa to confront kaitlin about her alliance with howard, spancer and candice...Elissa demanded that Kaitlin confront the house because apparently there was a movement to keep aaryn?? But then it eventually came out it was Amanda spreading rumors and leaking secrets. Led to a HUGE blow up between Amanda and Howard apparently. I may not be 100% accurate but thats the gist of it based on live feed tweeters

Sure it does. She's a fairly polarizing person. It seems you either love her or hate her. Let's just say for example that 30% of people love her, and the other 70% are sane individuals and can't stand her melted crayon looking face or annoying as nails on a chalkboard voice.
Now, using these numbers as an example, if you have a vote for MVP, the 30% of the moronic mouthbreathers that like her (assuming they can figure out how to vote) are going to vote for her to win MVP again because they are too stupid to see how it is completely ruining the entire season having her win every week. The other 70% of the vote is going to be split up among the other dozen or so housemates, and there really isn't a standout among them, it wouldn't be surprising to see a random scattering of votes for all the people in there, meaning everyone else gets around 6% of the vote. Of course there will be more for some, and less for others, but 30% is still plenty of a margin to overcome for 2nd place.
Now, flip that vote to see who gets put up for nominations, and it's easy to see who gets the most votes. In this scenario, she receives 70% of the votes and gets put up easily. This, of course is ignoring the fact that Aaryn probably had the most votes of everyone, but since she was already up they went to the 2nd or 3rd place vote (note: I haven't watched tonight's episode yet, so maybe I'm wrong, but I do assume that America's vote wasn't actually for elissa in the first place). Hell, if you take that into account, it's possible that Aaryn got 90% of the vote, Katlyn got 5% and America's sweetheart came in 3rd place with only 2% or something.
But yeah. TL;DR, it's really not that uncommon for a polarizing personality to be at the top of the most loved and most hated list. 7/24/2013 10:28:11 PM |
BrickTop All American 4508 Posts user info edit post |
^ahhh i didn't think about that. She could easily have been lower on the list than 1st, and it would be very unsurprising that Kaitlyn and/or Aaryn had more votes because they are wretched cunts 7/24/2013 10:47:37 PM |

I just watched the episode. Helen even says that right before they announce the 3rd nom that America could have voted Aaryn and Katlyn as 1 and 2 and Elissa as #3. The producers had to have dropped that in there as a way to tell you that that's exactly what happened. ] 7/24/2013 10:52:12 PM |

Nah the producers are just trying to make Helen out to be the smart one in a house full of idiots. They all know it was America. Things are a lot more open in the house then the show makes it out to be, everyone knows who the mvp is, who voted for who, etc. 7/25/2013 7:30:40 AM |

it was actually andy that first figured out that it was probably america that voted
the next HOH challenge is looking to be a complete shot in the dark type challenge where literally anyone can win. They were practicing skills last night for it and it was like rollling a ball into a bucket down a chute or something. BB set that up for them to practice for one hour and then they locked the ouse down to build the actual challenge
^i dont think Helen has demonstrated much intelligence at all, Id say Amanda has displayed the most intelligence in the house overall as far as figuring things out
