these guys are scrubs compared to last year's talent yet they look more like a team than any of the cjl/zo/wood teams. of course it's too early. we'll see how they do once adversity hits and they get destroyed by some ACC teams. but i'm loving these guys so far. lee's my new favorite player. well, behind lewis of course.

They get both of them back this year. So when he says..."they don't have their two best players. Later you will see a much better App State team" he is absolutely correct. (Given they actually are their two best players.

we look pretty good actually. offense was pretty bad for the first half. coming together in the second. the guys have been hustling throughout.

cat- good. 5/5 fg. 13 points. he and lewis on the court at the same time will work great.
warren- ok. not sure how many points he has. quiet game, but solid. a few beautiful floaters in traffic.
anya- terribly terrible

8 minutes left and we're up by 18 or 20

cat - pretty good, he's so quick (he's going to be good if he can stay healthy, always looking like he's going to get injured)
warren - another quiet, solid game
anya - like an overweight freshman playing a few minutes in his first college game, but he'll be ok

we looked pretty good. if we keep getting better, we could surpass expectations (slip into the top half of the ACC, even the tourney). i know...way too early.

just got back from the game...

this has probably been mentioned already, but dez lee reminds me of purvis except he can make his free throws and lay-ups. obviously it's only one game, but if that continues, i'm glad we made that exchange. he's well on his way to being my favorite new player on this team. thought freeman looked pretty good, too. definitely see where people were comparing him to howell as an undersized post player who works hard to get rebounds/loose balls.

we did look good, but app was draining shots (which doesn't say great things about our defense).

Our team defense seems pretty bad, but Barber is going to be a lock-down level defender with his length and quickness.

Lee, Turner, Freeman, and Washington all seem like pretty good defenders too, so we'll see .... maybe they improve as a whole. Not counting on it though.
