If you really have no idea where you want to go, don't pack up everything and randomly move.

As I said above, put your shit in storage for a couple of months and go on tour. Going by car and staying in hostels will keep costs waay down, and you can spend a significant amount of time in each prospective city to get a feel for the place. I live in Seattle because I have a fucking awesome job, but I know there are at least 5 other cities I would love to live in without a second thought because I spent enough time there (San Diego, Central Coast CA, Minneapolis, Austin, and Key Largo)

Do you know any engineering recruiters in Seattle?

I like your idea of putting stuff in storage and hostage squatting. May be a good idea if i move before finding a job.

By the way Minneapolis is a cool place but way TOO COOL in the winter lol.
